English Lesson Plan

1. Monday-Ready for Santa!
Objective: Recognize and identify 8 Christmas words and sing a Christmas carol.
Target Vocabulary: winter, carol, santa, bells, sledge, snowman, roast turkey, pudding,
Santa Claus.
Structure : Show a flashcard picture of Santa. Choose who it is ("Who is this?"). Explain
that today and next class we are going to have a Christmas Lesson. Put on some Christmas
carol background music to create a Christmas atmosphere.

2.Tuesday Paper Chain Decorations

Objective : Decorate objects for Christmas.
Target Vocabulary: santa, candy cane, present, chain, colours.

Structure: Children use glue to create chains, as shown in the picture below:

3.Wednesday- Play "Flashcard Touch" and "Missing Flashcard"

Structure:
Lay the flashcards out on the floor. Children put their hands in the air. Then Teacher calls out
a flashcard (e.g. "Christmas Tree!"). Ss have to touch the card as quickly as they can. Play for
a few rounds until you have done all of the flashcards.

4.Thursday Musical chairs or musical cushions game

Objective: Playing a funny game and focus on the movements.

Structure: Place chairs or cushions in a circle for each student, less one.Play the music and
have the students walk, skip around the circle of chairs. When you stop the music the
students have to scramble to sit down on a chair. The student remaining is out. For the next
round remove a chair. Finally, the game will have 2 students and one chair and the winner is
the only one remaining.

5.Friday Is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Structure: The teacher will introduce a new Christmas song. Children will learn new
Christmas words and they sing and move in a circle.
