Summer Academic Staff Information

2016
Dates/Times:
July 11- Aug 4, 2016 (Mon-Thur)
7:30a.m.-12:30p.m.
Curriculum:
New this year! Standards-based format. More info to come later this morning.
You will be paid for 3 hours of Curriculum Time (9:00-12:00 on 6/22)
Classrooms:
See attached list for room numbers and phone numbers
Staff/Substitute Contact Information:
Let Rose or Chad know as soon as you know you will be gone
Please secure a sub as soon as you know you will be gone (let us know if you need
help)

Please keep this information in a safe (non-kid) location, as it has staff members home
and cell phone numbers listed
Good Fit Books!:
Students will be able to check out books this summer! Our Media EA will be here on
Mondays. (See attached schedule.)
Leveled Readers (Treasures sets of 6) will also be available in your rooms.
Students need to have books in their hands this summer!
Computer Lab:
2 labs available to us.
Red Lab (interior) will be available for summer school from 9:00-12:30.
Blue Lab (close to hallway) will be available for summer school from 7:30-12:30.

Teacher Laptops:
Busy summer for District Technology department!
ALL Teachers will need to check out a laptop each day for their classroom use.
Attendance:
Student attendance will be done through Google Sheets.
Attendance Sheet will be shared with you via email. Take attendance daily by 8:00 a.m.
Mark students who are here with an X
If they are absent please leave blank.

Admin/support staff will deal with absent students and attendance phone calls.

Time Cards:
For today: 1 hour meeting, 3 hours curriculum, plus 1 hour of set-up time (can be flexed)
Teachers will be paid for 5.25 hours per day worked. (5 hrs teaching, 15 mins prep)
Time cards need to be signed and turned in Thursdays.
CLPs:
Will be aligned to new curriculum. More info to come.
Send home during the final week to get parent signatures. Keep original copy in case
they dont return.
Turn into the office when you have a complete class set.
Student Incentives:
Each day students attend they will fill out a Summer Academics Slip.
Teachers can hand out additional Summer Academics Slips at their own discretion.
We will have weekly prize drawings on Thursdays.
Breakfast:
Grab and Go pre-packaged cold meals.
Located in the hallway by the cafeteria.
Students will grab them on their way to class and eat them in the classroom.
Have a Sharing Table in your room for food that students dont want to eat, but others
may want.
Please have a morning classroom routine to ensure that students have time to eat
without losing instructional time.
Lunch:
Hot Lunch served in the cafeteria. Students need to take at least 3 of 5 items to count
as a lunch.
There will be a Sharing Table for extra items.
Teachers will drop off students, and support staff will supervise.
