Happy New Year!

I missed my kids, and was so
glad to see them on Tuesday. I
had been teased with the
possibility of jury duty, and I am
grateful that I got to come to
Springville instead!
We started the week with a party
and then jumped right back into
making our brains stronger!! We
took advantage of the weather for
science. We learned the terms
depth and variable. For
character education, we focused
on goal-setting,: why and how.
Every child wrote a focused goal
on their desk. Ask your child
what goal s/he set for the week!!

BRRRRR! It is COLD outside!!

When it is THIS cold outside, we have
offered an indoor recess choice.
However, this is a kid choice. Kids
who go outside are expected to wear
winter coats. Please make sure that
your childs winter clothing has their
name on it!!

check Seesaw!
In math this week, I have been doing a formative assessment to see how kids figure out a
solution & explain their thinking. This was put into your childs Seesaw account in video
form. You will notice that I am not giving any instruction or feedback, just asking
questions & observing. This will help me develop activities for next week. Please take a
peek and give your child feedback such as I noticed or I wondered.. (Please dont
just say good work or great job. This feedback doesnt encourage growth. Be sure to
include WHY you think its a good job or what you noticed!)
