LOCATION: Near College canteen

A girl is standing with her friends near the college canteen.
A group of guys are seen having fun in that canteen. She's staring
at one of the boys.
The group leaves the canteen passing her.
She gets conscious when they pass, but is disappointed that the
boy she was staring at, didn't notice her.

SOME OTHER TIME

The boy waves his friends bye. Gets on to his bike and leaves.
The bunch of girls are standing there a little ahead of the bike,
he passes them but still doesn't notice them.
The girl looks at him thinking what to do next.
LATER IN THE
COLLEGE
She walks past him in the college but still no luck. She turns
around, hides in the crowd and gets ahead of him. She then turns
and crosses him again but the result is still the same.
NEXT DAY
Next day she sees him coming. She looks at him with a lot of
determination. Takes a deep breath and walks towards him. She
purposely brushes him and quietly drops her kerchief.
Immediately after brushing, she behaves as though he was trying
to hit on her. She turns and gives him a bad look.
He immediately says sorry like a true gentleman and notices the
kerchief. He picks it up and calls her to give it to her.
GIRL
That's not mine. But nice try
(she says staring at him for
a couple of seconds and
slowly takes her eyes away)
The boy is zapped. He didnt know what happened.
AFTER SOME TIME
IN THE COLLEGE.
She's speaking to her friends.
FRIEND 1
"Tune apne chances aur kam kar diye.
Itni akkad dikhane ki kya zaroorat
thi?"

GIRL
"Toh kya maine sorry bolna tha?"
FRIEND 1
"Ab wo conscious ho gaya hoga. Mujhe
nahin lagta ab woh baat karega"
GIRL
"Toh hum kuch bahana banake baat kar
lenge. Usmein kya hai?"
FRIEND 1
"Par woh aaya hi nahin toh?"
(CONT'D)
"Oh shit, aa gaya"
Kaun?

GIRL

FRIEND 1
"Wahi, tera hero"
(points at him with her
chin)
GIRL
Oh shit! (She ensures her make up and
hair are fine)
BOY
"Excuse me?"
GIRL
(Girl turns around and with
attitude asks, )
"Yes?"
BOY
"I wanted to talk to you for a minute"
"Me?"

GIRL
BOY
"Yes. If you don't mind"
GIRL
(Turns around to the
girls.)
"Excuse me girls."
(She winks and smiles
sheepishly. Stops smiling
while turning around.)
BOY

"See, I'm not that kind of a guy. I

think you've mistaken me."
GIRL
"Oh you were the one yesterday who
was... um..."
(The other girls raise
their brows and cheeks
knowing that she's
acting.)
BOY
"Who... was...?"
(Says with a break between
both the words trying to
get it out of the girl.)
GIRL
"Who was trying to hit on me"
(saying it slowly and then
rushing towards the end.
She says it boldly keeping
her eyes wide open.)
The boy is jostled.
BOY
"Oh. No."
(He says with a start-stop
smile.)
(CONT'D)
"See that's what I was saying, you've
got me wrong."
GIRL
(Girl placing her hand on
his arm.)
Hey, that's ok. Relax. I'm cool.
(Boy notices her hand
placed on his arm and
shakes his head)
BOY
"Ok. Cool."
GIRL
"Cool then."
Yup

BOY

Girl goes back to her group making a face that she had him.
Boy is still standing there.
Girl's friend points towards the boy with eyebrows.

She turns her head. He looks at her. She raises her eye brows
indicating anything else?
BOY (CONT'D)
No, I'm just waiting for my friends.
(Pauses. )
I think I'll go there
(Points his hand in that
direction and starts
walking looking down.)
GIRL
(The girl turns around
comletely towards him and
calls him out)
"Hey... come here."
He goes there; a little surprised.
GIRL (CONT'D)
"Would you want to meet my friends?"
BOY
( Reluctantly )
"Um... Sure"
(She introduces all the
girls one by one except her
on purpose.)

"And you?"

BOY (CONT'D)
GIRL
"Hmmmmm... still interested in me,
eh?"
(She says with creased
forehead trying to tease
him)
BOY
"No... no... I didn't mean that."
GIRL
(Starts laughing)
"Chill. I'm Naina"
(forwards her hand to be
shaken.)
BOY
I'm Aakash
(shakes her hand.)
NAINA
"Hi Aakash"
AAKASH

"Hi"
(smiles looking at her once
and then lowers his eyes.)
NAINA
Liked my name?
AAKASH
Oh I did. I was just about to say that.
(pauses)
But I thought you'll again say that
I'm hitting on you
(looking down)
NAINA
(laughs it off)
"Same college?"
AAKASH
"Ya of course. In fact, the same
class as you"
NAINA
"Oh is it? Never seen you around"
(her friends roll their
eyes)
AAKASH
"I saw you the other day, you were
walking up and down"
NAINA
"Oh you did?"
AAKASH
"Yes. Did you lose something?"
NAINA
"Why?"
(expression changes from
excited to puzzled)
AAKASH
"No, since you were walking up and
down I thought you were searching for
something"
NAINA
"Oh that. Yes... Yes I did"
(smiles sheepishly)
AAKASH
"So did you find?"
"What?"

NAINA
AAKASH

"What you were searching for"

NAINA
(getting agitated as he's
not leaving that topic)
"No, I didn't. I was looking for a
million dollars that I had lost. Did
you find them anywhere?"
(she says putting one hand
on her waist)
AAKASH
"No, I didn't see a million dollars
but..."
(puts his hand in his
pocket)
"I found this 5 rupee coin if that's
what you were looking for"
Keeping her hand on her waist, she raises her eyebrows and stares
at him.
AAKASH (CONT'D)
"Ok, ok, just kidding"
(puts the coin back in his
pocket)
NAINA
"Hmm. Not bad"
AAKASH
(smiles)
"Thanks"
NAINA
"I think we're getting late for the
lecture. We should leave."
AAKASH
Nah, I'm not attending today. I'll
take notes.
NAINA
You want me to write the notes? I can
do that for you?
AAKASH
It's like asking, Do you want a
million dollars?
Of course I do.
Naina takes his book
NAINA
I'll give it to you tomorrow
AAKASH

Sure
NAINA
Ok then. Bye
Bye

AAKASH

The girls leave. After they take a few steps, Aakash calls her
from behind.

Hey!

AAKASH (CONT'D)
(Shouts)

AAKASH (CONT'D)
(Lowering his voice)
Thanks
Naina smiles and leaves. She starts blushing
NEXT DAY
The girl gang is sitting in the compound of the college
NAINA
(without looking at anyone)
I think he'll take me out for a coffee
today
FRIEND 1
(sarcastically)
And? He'll pick you up in his arms as
well?
NAINA
No. But I think he'll hug me
(nodding her head)
FRIEND 1
There he is
(pointing her finger
towards him)
Naina whistles in typical tapori style in a sing song tone.
Aakash looks at her with his eyes wide open.
His friends start laughing, taps him on his shoulder and then
leave.
AAKASH
You're one of a kind
NAINA
Yeah, I know.
NAINA (CONT'D)

Here are your notes.

Aakash forwards his hand to take it.
She pulls it back.
What?

AAKASH

NAINA
What do you mean, 'What?'
NAINA (CONT'D)
For all the efforts that I took, I at
least deserve a coffee. Don't you
think?
AAKASH
Oh yes! Yes Of course! Let's go
They both walk towards the college canteen. Naina looks back to
the gang of girls and winks
With slow music going on in the background, we see them talking,
giggling and laughing
NAINA
(after their hyper talking
and giggling waves down)
Hmphh... Here's your book.
Thanks

AAKASH
NAINA
Just for the records, if you want to
thank me with a hug, I'm ok. I will NOT
think and say that you're hitting on
me.
(hands over the book to him)
They both get up and he walks towards her to hug her
AAKASH
Thanks for the notes
NAINA
Thanks for the coffee
They both look at each other and the girl gang enters the canteen.
One of her friends starts coughing very loudly.
They get disturbed with the coughing.
NAINA (CONT'D)
(to her friend)

Gala kharab hai?

AAKASH
Hey in fact I have Strepsils.
(gives it to her)
Take it after gargling with warm salt
water. Immediate effect!
FRIEND 1
(with a pakaoed face)
Ya thanks. I'll have it
(takes it without changing
her expression)
AAKASH
Bye Naina
NAINA
Yup. See ya later.
Aakash leaves.
She keeps standing seeing him go
Her friend pulls her down
FRIEND 1
Ab zameen pe bhi aaja
NAINA
Haay! Dil le gaya banda
She then looks at her friend who still looks pakaoed. Naina
laughs and plays with her friend's cheeks
Her friend relaxes and smiles nodding her head
FRIEND 1
Ladke patane mein ustaad hai tu
NAINA
(pulling her collar and
with a lot of pride)

Naina gets ready
Aakash comes on the bike
She gives him his notes
She hops on his bike

They go to CCD
She talks to him on the phone. Her dad comes in her room. She
keeps the mobile aside and acts like she's studying. Her dad
talks to her and gives her some work. She finishes it and forgets
that she was on the phone. She runs and checks the phone. She
finds out he's still waiting for her on the phone.
They walk at Marine Drive in the rains
They have bhutta together
He drops her back
She stands holding the books by her chest
She adjusts his collar
Aakash says bye
She waves him bye
She waits there seeing him go, he glances back. She blushes.
She horse-jumps her way back home.
The song ends
She's talking to him on the phone
NAINA (CONT'D)
Nahin, let's go to the garden today.
I'll pack some sandwiches and get a
small carpet too.
NAINA (CONT'D)
So 4 pm? (Pause) Ok 4.30. Don't make
me wait ok?
AAKASH
Ya sure. I have a surprise for you
today.
NAINA
What is it?
AAKASH
(with a dead face)
It's a surprise!
NAINA
Don't spoil me too much ok? Otherwise
I'll keep expecting it. Bye

AAKASH
(smiling)

She disconnects the phone with a blush

The boy gets ready and goes to a shop to buy her a ring.
AAKASH (CONT'D)
Show me that one
SHOPKEEPER
This one is really good but a little
expensive
AAKASH
(looking at the ring)
It's ok. The person is also very
precious
He takes the ring and gets on to his bike.
Naina reaches the spot. She spreads the carpet, arranges the bag
and sits there waiting for him. She calls him up.
NAINA
Where are you? I've already reached.
AAKASH
(riding his bike)
Coming. On my way
Naina sits there removing a novel but keeps staring in empty
space running her imagination.
We see he's lying on her laps holding one of her hands and she
softly plays with his hair with the other hand, looking at him
with a tilted face
He reaches the garden where he can see her sitting from far.
He parks his bike
As soon as he gets down from his bike, he meets two of his college
friends.
AAKASH (CONT'D)
Arey Dilip, Chhotu, tum log yahan?
DILIP
Kyu? Yahan pe sirf tu hi aa sakta hai?
AAKASH
Nahin nahin, I didn't mean that
DILIP
Aur kaisa chal raha hai?
AAKASH

Haan, theek chal raha hai. Exams ki

taiyari karni hai
DILIP
Arey woh nahin, tera madam ke saath
kaisa chal raha hai
AAKASH
Oh, woh.
(softening his voice,
smiling)
Woh toh boht achha chal raha hai
CHHOTU
Oye hoye...
DILIP
Hmm. Enjoy till it lasts. Item mast
hai
(removes a cigarette from
his pocket)
AAKASH
Oye! Usko item mat bol
(he asserts)
DILIP
(Chhotu helping him light
his cigarette)
Bhai, pyar vyar mein mat padna. Despot
ladki hai.
AAKASH
Kya matlab?
DILIP
Matlab pehle chikni chukdi baatein
karegi, notes likhegi, ghoomegi
firegi, hotel mein khana khayegi,
shopping karwayegi. Phir mann bhar
gaya, toh 'fastrack'. Move on.
AAKASH
(getting irritated)
Kya bakwaas kar raha hai
DILIP
Bakwaas nahin kar raha. Experience
hua hai isiliye bata raha hoon. Dost
hai tu apna
DILIP (CONT'D)
Montu bulati thi mujhe taaki kisi ko
pata na chale
FLASHBACK

Aakash and Naina are sitting in the college when Aakash sees the
name of Montu written in one of her books
AAKASH
Yeh Montu kaun hai?
NAINA
Hai koi?
(she says smiling trying to
tease aakash)
Mera crush tha. Chhotu sa tha
(she continues and starts
laughing)
PRESENT
DILIP
Kehti thi, sirf mere book mein aur
mere dil mein ye naam rahega
(he says smoking up in the
air)
Rs. 7000 kharcha kiya uspe. Par Rs.
14000 ka vasooli bhi kiya
(he says winking at him
proudly with a sly smile)
AAKASH
(gets furious)
Bakwaas na kar aur nikal yahan se
(he says angrily)
DILIP
Abe yeh to senti ho gaya.
(he tells Chhotu)
I'm just warning you in advance. Maze
le le par paise zyada mat udana
Jitna deti hai utna hi kharcha karna.
Baaki teri marzi. Chal be. Neki kar
aur dariya mein daal
(he tells Chhotu while
walking away)
Aakash stands there closing his eyes, clenching his jaws and he
receives a phone call from Naina
He looks at the name flashing, stares at it for some time taking
deep breaths and finally picks it up in a flash
NAINA
Kahan ho tum? Kitni der laga di
AAKASH
Tum Dilip ko jaanti ho?
(asks with a wrinkled
forehead)
NAINA

Haan
(She sing songs the word
trying to understand where
he's heading to)
AAKASH
Uske liye notes likhe the?
NAINA
Haan. Aur mujhe uske baare tumko kuch
batana hai. Jaldi aa jaao
AAKASH
Boht der kar di batane mein. Mujhe
pata hai
NAINA
Tumko kaise pata? Mila abhi tumko woh?
I just don't like him. Such a rascal
he is.
She keeps speaking and Aakash takes the phone off his ears
standing there resting his hands on the railing looking very
furious.
He looks at the mobile while his hands are still resting on the
railing. Her voice can be heard where she's talking
continuously.
He holds the phone till his waist. Looks at it in anger and then
disconnects it and walks fast towards his bike
He kick starts the bike and he gets the call again. He disconnects
the call and turns off his mobile. Keeps the mobile in his pocket
and leaves on his bike with a lot of speed.
We see Naina sitting alone in the garden holding her phone in
one hand probably thinking how do I explain.
SLOW FADE OUT
Aakash is walking with his head down in the college campus with
his friends.
One of his friend elbows Aakash and he looks up when he finds
Naina walking towards him.
NAINA (CONT'D)
Where are you? Why have you blocked my
num...
Aakash taps his friend before she could complete her sentence
indicating them to move and he walks away with his friends
leading them
NAINA (CONT'D)
AAKASH!
(she screams)

But he doesn't react and keeps walking away turning to his left
inside the building disappearing from Naina's sight.
Naina is seen standing there alone looking at him go.
NEXT DAY
While he's again walking in the campus with his friends, he sees
something.
He catches Naina hugging someone. That man then holds her hand
and opens the door of his car and helps her sit inside.
Aakash keeps staring at her when her car passes him. Naina also
looks at him and is startled.
Aakash ignores her and walks away.
Naina peeps out of the window looking behind at him in the moving
car. He doesn't look back. She sees him go. She then sits back
resting her head behind, closing her eyes tight, about to cry.
Aakash and his friends are sitting on the grass in the college
compound.
Aakash is playing with pebbles.
One of his friends ask:
AAKASH'S FRIEND
Haven't seen Naina for a while
AAKASH'S 2ND FRIEND
Oh don't you know? She's left the
college
(they all look at Aakash
after that)
AAKASH
Shayad thodi sharam baaki reh gai hogi
(pause)
Ya phir shikar ka naya thikana mil
gaya hoga...
(throws the pebble he was
playing with)
SLOW FADE OUT
AFTER 3 WEEKS
Aakash and his friend are sitting on the bike when Dilip and
Chhotu walk towards him.
Chhotu is laughing hysterically and Dilip is visibly very angry
touching his cheeks every now and then.
AAKASH (CONT'D)

(to Chhotu and then looking

at Dilip)
Tere mu pe sava teen aur iske mu pe 12
kyun baje hue hain
CHHOTU
(controlling his laughter)
Repeat telecast of 26th October Boht
maza aaya.
AAKASH
Matlab? 26th October ko kya hua tha?
CHHOTU
Tere ko Naina ka episode bataya tha
na?
Aakash looks puzzled. Dilip looks at Chhotu. Chhotu's smile
disappears.
CHHOTU (CONT'D)
Tere ko Naina ka episode nahin bataya
tha? Toh kisko bataya tha?
AAKASH
Kaun sa episode.
CHHOTU
Sala jooth bolo toh kisko kya bola tha
kuch yaad nahin rehta.
DILIP
Kuch nahin re... Chhod.
AAKASH
(angrily)
Chhotu kya hua tha?
Chhotu looks at Dilip for approval
DILIP
Ab bol de. Sab khatam toh ho gaya hai
CHHOTU
(again gaining the momentum
to laugh)
Bhai boht dino se uss par fielding
laga rahe the. Dekha toh uska setting
tere saath chal raha tha.
FLASHBACK WITH
VOICE OVER
Dilip and Chhotu are waiting for someone. Naina comes out of the
building and calls for an auto. She gets in and auto leaves
VOICE OVER

Bhai uski fielding laga rahe the. Hum

log uske building ke neeche wait kar
rahe the. Dekha toh woh aate hi
rickshaw pakad ke nikal li
They follow her in the rickshaw
VOICE OVER (CONT'D)
Hum log uske peeche peeche nikal liye
She goes to the garden. They both look at her going
VOICE OVER (CONT'D)
Dekha toh woh garden mein chali gai.
Woh baith ke book padhne lagi. Bhai
gaye collar tight karke.
DILIP
Dekh mein tere se pyar karta hoon.
Shadi banaunga tere saath. 2 bachhe
banayenge. Pehle bachhe ka naam jo tu
chahe par doosre bachhe ka naam meri
pasand ka hoga. Bol kya bolti hai
NAINA
(after thinking looking in
the air)
Dekh offer toh boht tempting hai par
Thanks. Nahin chahiye
PRESENT
DILIP
Uss mein bhi khaaj kam nahin thi na.
Seedhe seedhe nahin bol sakti thi?
FLASHBACK
VOICE OVER
Bhai ko laga line de rahi hai par natak
kar rahi hai. Seedha haath pe attack
kiya. Uska haath pakad liya.
PRESENT
AAKASH
Phir?
CHHOTU
Phir kya. Usne bhai ke gaal pe attack
kiya.
(slapping his own face)
FLASHBACK
NAINA
Jo bolna hai aur jitna bolna hai bol.
Par chhuna nahin

PRESENT
CHHOTU
(still laughing)
Bhai aaj bhi sandal kha ke aaye hai
DILIP
(looking at Chhotu)
Toh kya hua. Daring toh kiya na. Aur
Uska jawab bhi mila na usko? Sali mere
se panga leti hai.
(he says folding his
sleeves up looking at
nobody)
AAKASH
Aur woh Montu?
Dilip and Chhotu look at each other and start laughing
hysterically
DILIP
Uske liye toh mujhe 10 mein se 10 milne
chahiye. Uske book pe naam padha tha
maine 'Montu'. Tere se mila toh jat se
ek story bana li. Mujhe dar iss baat
ka tha ki kahin woh tujhe hi Montu na
bulati ho par phir socha aisa hoga toh
aur bhi achha, hum dono ko Montu bula
ke pontu bana rahi hai bol dunga
(again starts laughing
hysterically again giving
a hi5 to Chhotu)
Aakash gets angry and holds his collar
AAKASH
Saale itni ghinoni harkat ki tune.
Sharm aani chahiye tujhe
Dilip takes Aakash's hands off his collar with a lot of force
and pushes him back.
DILIP
"Sharm toh tujhe aani chahiye! Agar
pyaar karta tha toh meri baat kyu
maani? Mere jaise toh boht log milenge
tujhe. Agar tera pyaar sachha hota toh
kuch nahin hota, kachha tha isliye
toot gaya."
Arey tujhe toh yeh bhi nahin pata ki
usne college kyun chhoda. Uske maa
baap doosre hi din accident mein tapak
gaye the aur uska mama use yahan se le
ke gaya. Baat karta hai
(he says pulling his shirt
down which was crumpled
after Aakash held him by
his collar)

Mera dimaag already kharab hai, zyada

kharab mat kar. Aur ek case ko niptane
ka hai.
(tapping Chhotu)
Ae chal re... Pakka til hai na?
(they start walking away)
CHHOTU
Haan bhai, pakka hai. Salma ne bataya
mujhe.
(they leave talking to each
other with their voice
fading out)
Aakash is crushed from within and curses himself for behaving
the way he did. He remembered how badly she wanted to talk to
him that day when she was going in the car.
Next scene
Aakash opens up to his friend
His friend nods and puts his arm on Aakash's shoulder
AAKASH
(looking diagnally down)
Naina ko kahin se bhi dhoondh nikalna
hai
AAKASH'S FRIEND
Par kaise? Kahan dhoondhenge use
AAKASH
(gets angry on his friend)
Kahin se bhi dhoondh nikalenge. Itne
friends hain uske, facebook hai, uska
address hai
We see a montage of scenes, where they are going to all the places
but no one seems to be having a clue. They speak to her friends,
chat with people online but don't get any lead.
His friend comes running to Aakash
AAKASH'S FRIEND
Uske Mama ke ghar ka pata chal gaya.
Par woh ghar pe nahin hai. He's out of
station
AAKASH
(with a relieved voice)
Chal par ghar toh mil gaya na... kahan
pe hai
AAKASH'S FRIEND
(still trying to catch his
breath from running hard)

Koi faayda nahin. Naina wahan nahin

rehti
Phir?

AAKASH

AAKASH'S FRIEND
Woh wahan se teesre hi din bhaag gayi
thi. Mama theek nahin tha.
AAKASH
Chal uski photo leke chalte hain. Koi
toh lead milegi. Himmat nahin
haarenge. I have to make up for what
I have done.
They go to places showing her photograph but without any luck.
Then, they go to a chai shop and show chaiwala the photo. The
shopkeeper denies having seen her. A person who's having tea asks
them to show the photo.
STRANGER
Shayad, isse maine Andheri East mein,
Chakala area mein dekha tha. Sure
nahin hoon yehi hai, par wahan use
dekha hua lagta hai
AAKASH
(getting excited)
Kiske saath thi. Kisi ke ghar pe dekha
tha? Exactly kahan dekha tha.
STRANGER
Nahin raat ka time tha. Mein apni bike
pe wait kar raha tha. Usko rickshaw
nahin mil rahi thi. Maine socha lift
doon
AAKASH
Phir?
STRANGER
Phir usko rickshaw mil gai aur woh
chali gai.
AAKASH
Thanks. Thanks a ton. You were very
helpful.
The stranger stares at them when they leave sipping his chai.
They roam through that area without any luck. They then pass a
lane where they find a lot of girls waiting for their customers.
AAKASH (CONT'D)
Ye hum log kahan aa gaye?

AAKASH'S FRIEND
Dekhne mein kya jaata hai? Photo de?
Aakash stops walking looking puzzled
AAKASH
(puzzled and angry)
Pagal hai kya? Chal yahan se
Hits him on his back shoulder and they leave.
Camera doesn't follow them but stays steady. The blurred image
gets sharp and we see a female standing there with heavy make-up
looking in empty space standing like a dead body. She's Naina.
Aakash is having tea at a tea stall when his friend comes. He's
holding a newspaper
AAKASH (CONT'D)
Kitni der kar di? Aaj boht saari jagah
chalenge usko dekhne.
Boss ek aur cutting bana
(he tells the chaiwala)
AAKASH'S FRIEND
Nahin, mujhe nahin peeni. Yeh le padh
AAKASH
Nahin, mujhe nahin padhna
(continues sipping his tea)
AAKASH'S FRIEND
5th page padh le uske baad kahin jaane
ki zaroorat nahin
AAKASH
(puzzled and tensed)
(Takes the newspaper and is
fearing the worst. Takes
his time to open the
newspaper)
Obituary section?
(He asks his friend almost
about to cry)
AAKASH'S FRIEND
Nahin re... tu padh na
AAKASH
(he takes a sigh of relief)
Ainway hi dara diya
(confidently turns papers
to find page 5)
Aakash's friend keeps looking at him
AAKASH (CONT'D)
Kya hai yah...

(stops talking and looks

closely)

Yeh... Yeh toh Naina hai.
His friend nods in agreement.
Aakash is excited to find her. But his excitement is short-lived.
His friend stares at him with a dead face.
AAKASH'S FRIEND
(putting his arm on
Aakash's shoulder)
Ab bhool ja use. Ab toh sach mein boht
logon ne khaya hai usko.
Ab woh tere kabil nahin rahi. Ab woh
kisi ke kabil nahin rahi.
His friend gets up from the bench they were sitting.
AAKASH'S FRIEND (CONT'D)
Chal tujhe ghar chhod deta hoon
AAKASH
(without looking at him he
nods in negative, staring
in empty space with crease
in his forehead looking
very sad)
Tu ja.
Camera stays on Aakash with a slow fade out.
Aakash is walking slowly towards the railway platform. He
settles down at a place and looks ahead. His eyes moves a little
to its right and the crease on his forehead eases out after he's
seen something
Naina is sitting on the bench on the other platform. Naina
catches Aakash looking at her. She looks at him without
expressions. While they stare at each other, two trains pass each
other on both the tracks adjacent to the platforms.
Naina gets up from her bench and is looking for him waiting for
the trains to pass. The trains pass each other and we see Naina
looking for Aakash but he's not there. She checks out in the crowd
but he's not to be seen anywhere.
She takes a glance at the train going away. She takes a deep
breath, gets back to her bench and sits looking down. A hand rests
on her right shoulder. She looks up at the person with a huge
smile. But the smile vanishes. The person hands her a water
bottle. Dejected, she takes it. The person moves to her left

rolling her wrist asking her to follow. When the person moves
away from her eyes, she sees Aakash standing. She just keeps
looking at him. He also stands still looking at her.
Then he mimes, "I love you"
The other person holds Naina's hand to take her.
Naina keeps her hand rigid and doesn't move. She looks at that
girl and then towards Aakash.
The girl looks at Aakash and then towards her and mimes,
'Aakash'? She nods in affirmation only once.
The girl thinks for a second staring at her and then loosens her
grip on Naina's hand. She smiles a little bit and then leaves
nodding her head as though she understands.
He's happy to see that and mimes again, "I'm sorry" with tears
in his eyes which are holding on tightly to his eyes.
She stares at him and then tears start rolling down her cheeks.
She rushes to him without stopping herself from crying and cries
like a baby with her head resting on his chest. Her cry only
increases with his loving strokes on her head and back. They both
cry in each other's arms.
Movie ends with the top shot of the platform where they are still
hugging each other and others are walking up and down the
platforms busy in their daily life.
