Water is the liquid of life.

It covers 71 percent of our planet's surface and the

oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water. Without water the Earth cannot
survive. Water shapes landscapes, nourishes and supports every living thing,
regulates temperature and provides us livelihood. Our planet only contains 25
percent of freshwater. All freshwater depends on the continued healthy functioning
of our ecosystem. The availability and quality of our freshwater are ecosystem
services which offer mitigation of drought and flood. Raising awareness in
freshwater issues and taking actions will help conserve and protect our freshwater
and bring back the positive impact for our freshwater resources.
