Voices of Cambridge

By Chessie Sharman

EXT. CAMBRIDGE SKYLINE - KINGS COLLEGE IN BACKGROUND

The sun rise in a fast time lapse over looking the Cambridge
skyline with Kings College in the background. The words
Voices of Cambridge fades into shot as the time lapse
develops. We hear a faint start of a drum that signals the
start of the music.
EXT. CAMBRIDGE MARKET - MARKET HILL
We get a snippet of the hustle and bustle of the Cambridge
market as we hear voices and the footsteps of people walking
around the market. The drum beat continues to progress and
get marginally louder.
EXT. BIKES IN CAMBRIDGE
Another snippet of the city as we get a level shot of a row
of bikes next to one of the colleges, we again hear the
hustle and bustle of Cambridge, there could also be some
bird singing in the scenes as the drum beat, again, gets
louder.
EXT. PUB IN CAMBRIDGE - BRIDGE STREET
Snippet of a pub on Bridge Street in Cambridge. More noise
from the street as the drum beat gets ever louder and more
prominent above the noise from the street. We also hear a
very faint start of the melody in the music.
EXT. BACK OF KINGS COLLEGE
Nice scenic shot of the back of Kings College which shows
the universities scale, lots of people walking past so lots
of background noise but the beat of drum and melody in music
that is starting to pick up more now is louder.
EXT. TRINITY STREET - BACK OF TRINITY COLLEGE
Scenic shot of the back of Trinity College as we are
introduced to the first group of people who start joining in
singing the melody and clapping to join in the drum beat.
Stood in front of a beautiful Trinity College, people are
walking and cycling past wondering whats going on.

EXT. CAMBRIDGE MARKET - MARKET HILL

Another shot from the market as another group of people
there doing the same, singing the melody, different ages of
people and strong male voices are coming into the music to
give it definition and diversity. Noises from the market,
the hustle and bustle, can still be heard by the music is
louder.
EXT/INT. SCENIC VIEW MONTAGE
More scenic views of Cambridge slid in between all the
groups of singers. This could include inside churches or
buildings
INT. INSIDE THE GRAND ARCADE
A small group of people, maybe around three, stand on the
2nd level of the Grand Arcade overseeing all the shops and
all the people going around their business. They would
again, be doing the clap and foot tapping in time with the
music.
EXT. CORPUS CLOCK - TRUMPINGTON STREET
A guy with a cajn sits in front of the famous Corpus Clock
matching the drumming beat with his cajn.
EXT. ON THE PUNTS - RIVER CAM
The brunt of the music stops as it simmers down to just the
drum from the previous scene and 1 person on a punt going
down the river joining in with the beat.
EXT/INT. SCENIC VIEW MONTAGE
More different nice views of Cambridge put into to show
diversity of people, schools/colleges and resturants.
EXT. THE ROUND CHURCH
Group of people singing and clapping outside The Round
Church as the music picks up again.

3.

EXT. BRIDGE STREET - OVER THE RIVER CAM

Another group of people making the melodies louder with all
instruments as well.
EXT. CHRISTS PIECES
Last shot as a big group of people are gathered at Christs
Pieces, adding to the final feel of the sound all the music
is coming together.
MONTAGE OF GROUPS SINGING
A montage of all the groups of people around Cambridge are
in as we flash back to the previous scene of the big group
of people at Christs pieces.
EXT. CHRISTS PIECES
Final shot of the big group as the camera pans up into the
sky, where the words Come join the voices of Cambridge
fades across the sky and the music all cuts out at once, and
all you hear is the faint noises of the people in the city
and some bird sounds.
