Shooting Investigation
Springfield, Illinois On January 12, 2017, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Springfield Police Officers
responded to the area of 19th and Ridgely for a reported shooting. Upon arriving, officers were
told by witnesses that a black male had been shot multiple times by an unidentified individual,
who was in a black smaller car that had tinted windows and black rims. The victim, a 30 year old
Springfield man, was transported to St. Johns Hospital by a personally owned vehicle with what
was described to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen. Three houses were
also believed to have been struck by gun fire during this incident.
