FADE IN:

EXT. SKYLINE OF LONDON-NIGHT

The city is dark and overcast. A lone bell is heard tolling in
the distance eleven times.
CUT TO:
EXT. STREET-NIGHT
A young woman wearing an excessive amount of makeup and a dress
that exposes her bare bosom, is strolling unescorted down the
dimly lit street, humming a random tune. A shadowy figure is
following behind her, holding what appears to be a knife.
The womans blissful expression is illuminated by the light of
the gas streetlight. She is unaware of the stranger lurking
behind her. The figure grabs the womans shoulder and spins her
around so that she faces him.
CUT TO:
EXT. SKYLINE OF LONDON-NIGHT
A womans scream is heard echoing throughout the city.
CUT TO:
INT. BEDROOM-DAY
A rugged man and a dainty woman are asleep in a 4-poster canopy
bed. The bedclothes are rumpled and wrapped around the womans
waist. A masculine voice is heard from behind the door.
MR. DAVIDSON
(happily)
Dearest, Im home! Lets have an early dinner
before
The heavy wood door opens to reveal the husband whose expression
turns from happy to appalled upon discovering his wife in bed
with another man. The woman in bed wears a mortified expression
and draws the sheets higher to cover her naked shoulders. The
man in the bed throws back the covers and gets up from the bed,
a calm smirk painted on his face.
MR. DAVIDSON
(furiously)
Who the devil is this?!

MR. HYDE
(acting proper)
The names Edward, sir. Pleasure to meet you, Mr.
Davidson. Almost as delightful as my recent
interactions with Mrs. Davidson.
Hyde licks his lips and looks back at the woman, who gasps upon
hearing her lovers retort. The husband scowls at the mans
behavior.
MR. DAVIDSON
(indignantly)
You filthy scoundrel! You have 10 seconds to
vacate the premises before I call the police!
MR. HYDE
(modestly)
10 seconds? Why thats not enough time to get my
britches back on. Would you be willing to give me
45 seconds instead, sir, so that I may cover up
my?
MR. DAVIDSON
(insistently)
Of course not! I want you out of my house
immediately!
MR. HYDE
Thats a real shame, sir.
Hyde sucker punches Davidson and knocks him out cold. Then he
turns toward the wife.
MR. HYDE
(solicitously)
Thanks for the wonderful night, love.
We must do it again sometime.
The wife nods and watches as Hyde climb out the stained glass
window.
CUT TO:
EXT. MANSION-DAY
Hyde climbs up a tree branch and through window on the second
floor, and closes it behind him, his back to the darkened
features of the room.

CUT TO:
INT. BEDROOM
Hyde takes off his jacket, trousers, and buttoned shirt, and
puts on a set of pajamas and a smoking jacket. Afterwards, he
reaches into the watch pocket of the jacket he previously wore
and pulls out a small vial filled with murky liquid. He pulls
off the cork and takes a sip.
Immediately, Hyde hunches over, his face is unseen, grunting in
pain.
CUT TO:
INT. HALLWAY
Poole knocks on the door.
POOLE
Dr. Jekyll, are you up yet? The cook has
breakfast ready for you.
The door opens and reveals Dr. Jekyll already in his coat and
tie.
DR. JEKYLL
(smiling)
Dont worry, Poole, Im up. Has the paper arrived
yet?
POOLE
Yes, sir. Ive left it on the dining room table
for you to read at your leisure.
DR. JEKYLL
Very good, Poole. Thank you.
CUT TO:
INT. JEKYLLS DINING ROOM
Jekyll goes to sit down for breakfast at the head of the long,
mahogany dining room table to a plate of eggs, bacon and toast,
a cup of tea and the newspaper on the side are waiting.
Jekyll picks up the paper and looks at the headline.
DR. JEKYLL
Young woman found stabbed to death in the
middle of the street. Victim was identified as
Miss Violet Clarke, daughter to Mr. and Mrs.
Peter Clarke. Dear god What sort of monster
could do such a thing?

A knock is heard from the front door. Poole goes to open it to

reveal a police inspector.
POOLE
(politely)
Yes, how may I help you?
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
Good morning, is Dr. Jekyll in?
POOLE
Of course. Please follow me, Inspector.
Poole leads the inspector to the dining room.
POOLE
Dr. Jekyll, Inspector Newcomen here to see you.
Jekyll stands up from the table.
DR. JEKYLL
Inspector Newcomen, what brings you over this
early in the morning?
Inspector Newcomen glances at the newspaper on the table.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
Well, Id tell you about it, but it seems as
youve read about the incident in question in the
paper.
DR. JEKYLL
(matter-of-factly)
The murder of poor Miss Clarke? Why do you need
me, Inspector? Skills as a physician are of no
use in reviving the dead.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
We need to examine the body. Our usual coroner
says theres something off with the corpse, and
wants some experts to get a second look at it.
And who better than Dr. Henry Jekyll and Dr.
Hastie Lanyon to have a look?

DR. JEKYLL
(flattered)
Ill do what I can if it will help catch the
culprit.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
Youre a good man, Jekyll. If only there were
more like you in London, instead of slime like
Edward Hyde. What kind of monster tramples
children and then blows it off with some
banknotes?
DR. JEKYLL
It was the one time incident, Inspector.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
Be that as it may, the next chance I get, I will
bring Hyde in. I swear on it.
DR. JEKYLL
Be careful, Inspector. Youre starting to sound
like Captain Ahab, and we all know how that tale
ended.

INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
(sighs)
Well, we best be on our way. Come along, Jekyll.
Dr. Lanyon should already at the mortuary by now.
Poole opens the front door.
DR. JEKYLL
After you, Inspector.
Inspector Newcomen leaves through the front door, followed
shortly by Dr. Jekyll.
CUT TO:
INT. SCOTLAND YARD-DAY
Jekyll enters Scotland Yard through the front door and makes his
way to the basement.
CUT TO:
INT. MORTUARY-DAY

Dr. Jekyll, Dr. Lanyon, and the Coroner are examining the body
of the deceased woman.
DR. JEKYLL
(perturbed)
So, whats so unique about this corpse that it
was necessary to drag Dr. Lanyon and myself over
to Scotland Yard?
CORONER
Well, it started off when I noticed the pupils
were dilated
DR. LANYON
(interrupting)
Pupils dilated?! Thats why you dragged us over
here in the middle of the morning?! Because a
corpses pupils were dilated?!
CORONER
(indignantly)
Thats not all! Among the stab marks, theres a
small puncture wound thats hard to see compared
to the much larger wounds made across the body.
DR. JEKYLL
Sounds like the work of a syringe, rather than a
knife.
DR. LANYON
Which begs the question what was the syringe used
for while the victim was being stabbed? A
euthanizing agent would have been redundant,
given the evidence of a knife present. And since
the murder took place in the street in the middle
of the night, it couldnt have been used to knock
her out.
DR. JEKYLL
(puts hands up)
Wait, the dilated pupils. Perhaps it was some
sort of hallucinogenic drug administered to the
victim.
DR. LANYON
Why would the culprit administer a hallucinogenic
to their victim before killing them?

DR. JEKYLL
Perhaps to increase the levels of terror and get
a more of a kick out of Miss Clarkes death
throes.
DR. LANYON
Dear Lord! What kind of a monster would do such a
thing?
DR. JEKYLL
Either the culprit made it himself, suggesting a
background in chemistry, or he had someone with
chemical expertise make it for him. If we could
identify the mixture used, we could narrow down
the search.
Lanyon turns to the Coroner.
DR. LANYON
Was there any broken glass recovered from the
scene?
CORONER
Why, yes, there were several shards of glass near
the victim. The Inspector believes it to be the
remains of a syringe.
DR. JEKYLL
Perfect! We can test the glass for residual
liquid or powder, and then cross-reference it
with the skillsets and order manifests of known
chemists.
CUT TO:
EXT. RESTAURANT-DAY
Jekyll and Lanyon are sitting at a small table looking over
order manifests from a chemistry supply shop.
DR. JEKYLL
According to the suppliers, the person who
ordered the components for the hallucinogen is
one Emmett Screwtt, a down-on-his-luck chemist
who supplies drugs for several gangs around
London. Seems like the person a murderer would
order chemicals from.

DR. LANYON
(sympathetically)
This fellow seems to have the worst luck. Had to
drop out of university after his fathers law
firm went bankrupt, leaving him without a degree.
Then his wife died in childbirth, and now he has
a serious drinking problem. Hard to believe he
remains sober enough to produce chemJekyll perks up at the mention of drinking problem.
DR. JEKYLL
Wait a minute. Drinking problem? What watering
hole does he frequent?
DR. LANYON
(puzzled)
The Bloated Boar Tavern near the docks. Sadly, I
doubt Scotland Yard can go near that place
without sticking out like a sore thumb. We
wouldnt blend in with the lowlifes that frequent
it either.
DR. JEKYLL
Dont worry, Lanyon. I might know someone who can
blend in.
Jekyll gets up from the bench and walks off, leaving a puzzled
Lanyon sitting there confused by Jekylls statement.
CUT TO:
EXT. THE BLOATED BOAR TAVERNNIGHT
A group a drunk patrons is seen stumbling out of the premises.
Hyde walks past them without giving them a second glance.
CUT TO:
INT. THE BLOATED BOAR TAVERN-NIGHT
Hyde walks up the bar and takes a seat. The barkeep meanders
over to him.
BARKEEP
Whats your poison?
MR. HYDE
(pounds fist on the counter)
Get me some rum.

The barkeep turns to the back shelf in order to fulfill the

latest request. Hyde scans the pub in order to pick out Emmett
Screwtt.
A man walks up to the bar in the meantime.
EMMETT SCREWTT
Ill have a pint of mead, barkeep.
BARKEEP
(angrily)
You havent paid your tab off yet, Screwtt!
EMMETT SCREWTT
I just did a job for a client! Im expecting
payment very soon!
BARKEEP
Well, until you pay off your tab, youre not
getting a drop out of me!
Barkeep grabs a bottle of rum and a mug and delivers it to Hyde,
before serving the other patrons.
Hyde pours some of his rum into the mug and slides it over to
Emmett Screwtt.
EMMETT SCREWTT
Cheers, mate!
MR. HYDE
(feigning understanding)
Waiting on a commission, eh?

EMMETT SCREWTT
(sighs)
You have no idea. I make a drug upon a clients
request, using some hard to find ingredients, and
I get no much as a pound out of him.
MR. HYDE
You try going up to his home and threatening him
until he pays up? Thats what I would have done
if someone screwed me over in a deal like that.

EMMETT SCREWTT
I cant. I never saw what he looked like; he only
corresponded through the mail.
MR. HYDE
Well, if he screws you over, why not screw him
over? I heard a hallucinogenic was used in a
recent murder, and I bet the police would reward
any information that brought them closer to the
killer.
EMMETT SCREWTT
(exclaims)
Go to the police?! And lose what little
reputation I have with my clients?!
MR. HYDE
Youre a failed chemist who drinks away what
little earning he has in his wallet and whose
clients cheat him out of his pay without a second
thought. You dont HAVE a reputation!
EMMETT SCREWTT
If what you say is true about my client being a
murderer and I go to the police with information
about my client, whats to stop him from killing
me in retaliation?!
MR. HYDE
Heres a better question: Whats to stop him from
killing you now in order to make sure you never
squawk. Answer: nothing. He hasnt paid you yet
because hes probably going to shut you up for
good.
EMMETT SCREWTT
(horrified)
Oh dear god, youre right.
MR. HYDE
Of course I am. I usually am.
EMMETT SCREWTT
I need to get over to Scotland Yard right away. I
only hope its not too late.

MR. HYDE
You go and do that. Id go along, but theyre not
to fond of little old me. Not after I slept with
Newcomens wife.
Emmett Screwtt goes to exit the pub, but bumps into a burly
patron.
THUG
(furiously)
AAGH! You klutz! You made me spill my drink!
EMMETT SCREWTT
Im terribly sorry, sir. It was an accident. It
wont happen again.
THUG
Youre damn right it wont happen again. Not
after Im through with you.
Emmett looks at the thug terrified upon realization of the
situation.
Hyde notices and saunters over to the source of the commotion.
MR. HYDE
(coyly)
Youll have to excuse my friend. In a bit of a
hurry, has to run an errand. Im sure he didnt
do it on purpose.
THUG
Stay out of this, Hyde. Im not getting told off
by a man who delights in trampling up little
girls.
MR. HYDE
(coldly)
Oh, youre going to wish you hadnt said that
THUG
Why? Cant handle the truthHyde punches the Thug in the face and a fight breaks out in the
pub. Emmett Screwtt manages to escape through the backdoor in
the ensuing chaos. Hyde is trapped in a brawl between the thug
and his friends.

MR. HYDE
(baiting)
Is that all you gotHyde is knocked out after one of the thugs punches him in the
back of the head.
FADE OUT:
FADE IN:
EXT. ALLEYWAY-NIGHT
Hyde wakes up in a dark alleyway bruised and broken, but very
much alive.
MR. HYDE
(groans)
Those bastards got lucky. If Screwtt didnt go to
the police after all that and his client doesnt
kill him, I will.
JACK THE RIPPER
(from afar)
Sadly you missed that opportunity, Mr. Hyde.
Hyde looks around startled and looks around for the owner of the
voice, but is unable to see anyone.
JACK THE RIPPER
(from afar)
Im not sure how you managed to connect Screwtt
with myself so quickly, but luckily I was
planning to tie up the loose knot that he was
before you showed up.
Hyde looks over a stack of crates to find the dead body of
Emmett Screwtt stabbed repeatedly with a bloodied knife nearby.
JACK THE RIPPER
(from afar)
And now, I have someone to take the fall in my
stead while I deal with my final victim. Give my
regards to Inspector Newcomen, Mr. Hyde.
Hyde is startled to find the police gathering at the end of the
alleyway.

INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
Stay where you are or well shoot! You are under
arrest for the murders of Miss Violet Clarke and
Mr. Emmett Screwtt!
MR. HYDE
You are making a grave mistake, Inspector.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
The only mistake I made was not doing this
sooner, Hyde.
The police open fire and Hyde runs out of the alleyway. He
manages to temporarily lose them and brings a vial out of his
pocket. He puts the vial to the lips, but as he is about to take
a sip, a lone officer spots him and shoots him in the side of
his torso, leaving a deep gash in it. The recoil forces Hyde to
drop the vial. The vial shatters and spills the liquid upon
impact. Hyde puts a hand over his injury and runs down the
alleyway toward the bridge.
OFFICER
I have eyes on him! Hes heading to the bridge!
Hyde looks over his shoulder as he reaches the bridge and
notices the police are gaining on him. He vaults over the side
of the bridge into the murky depths, making a loud splash upon
impact.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
I want eyes on the river banks. If he shows his
face from the mud, I want him shot on sight.
Tonight will be his last night.
OFFICER
Sir, I found these glass shards and some liquid
from something he dropped after I shot him.
INSPECTOR NEWCOMEN
Have Dr. Lanyon and Dr. Jekyll look over and
sample the substance. Perhaps it can give us
insight to inner workings of Hydes mind.
CUT TO:
INT. DR. LANYONS LABORATORY

DR. LANYON
What a remarkable chemical! I never seen a substance produced in
this exact manner! Hard to believe Screwtt could produce
something like this with his equipment. Ill have to run some
tests to figure out the effects of it.
A knock is heard on the door.
DR. LANYON
Hold on, Ill be right with you.
Dr. Lanyon opens the door and gasps, revealing a soaking wet,
injured Mr. Hyde.
MR. HYDE
Lanyon, I need your help.
Hyde collapses on the threshold of the laboratory. Dr. Lanyon
looks at the man with a mix of horror and revulsion. Dr. Lanyon
shakes his head as he drags Hyde into his laboratory and onto a
cot in the corner. He attends to Hyde, taking out the bullet,
cleaning it with alcohol, and stitching up the wound left by the
bullet. Hyde begins to stir.
MR. HYDE
(groans)
Lanyon, you have to listenDR. LANYON
No, I have to call the police, Mr. Hyde. The
Hippocratic Oath only prevents me from doing
physical harm to my patients, not obstruction of
justice.
MR. HYDE
You cant, Lanyon. The real culprit is still out
there. No one is safe.
DR. LANYON
(furiously)
You cant seriously expect me to believe that.
Most of the victims match your taste in women
when it comes to relations.
MR. HYDE
(shocked)
Wait, what do you mean the victims matched my
tastes?

DR. LANYON
Most of the victims were prostitutes, the kind of
woman you normally associate yourself with.
MR. HYDE
Yes, but for activities that are pleasing to both
parties, not one where one of us is murdered.
DR. LANYON
(darkly)
Though, that one incident comes to mind.
MR. HYDE
Look, let me see the list. There might be
something there that can give us information on
the culprit.
Dr. Lanyon hands Hyde the list.
DR. LANYON
I dont see what good it will do.
Hyde goes over the list, his eyes scrolling across the names.
MR. HYDE
Aside from Emmett Screwtt, the victims are Miss
Violet Clarke, Daisy OHare, Rose Beauregarde,
Lily MatthewsHyde freezes as he recognizes the sequence of names.
DR. LANYON
(concerned)
What is it?
MR. HYDE
These arent just prostitutes, Lanyon. These
girls are part of a group known as The Flower
Girls.
DR. LANYON
(puzzled)
The Flower Girls?

MR. HYDE
A group of high-profile courtesans who cater to
the best. Never had the chance to bed one of them
personally. But, theres one surviving member
that Im sure is the next target: Petunia
Gardener.
DR. LANYON
If youre right, Inspector Newcomen needs to be
informed immediately!
Dr. Lanyon rushes over to the telephone and attempts to dial the
number for Scotland Yard. He holds the phone to his ear for a
few seconds, then places the phone back down on the hook.
DR. LANYON
(frustrated)
The Inspector is still out. Probably still
looking for you.
MR. HYDE
By the time they get that message, Miss Gardener
will be dead! You have to let me go, Lanyon!
DR. LANYON
(yells)
You expect me to trust the life of a young woman,
whatever her social status, to the hands of a
violent degenerate such as yourself? Especially
when Inspector Newcomen is unavailable to
intervene?
MR. HYDE
Theres no one else who can save her, Lanyon! If
you want to prevent the murder of Miss Gardener,
then let me go!
Dr. Lanyon sighs in defeat.
DR. LANYON
If she dies and I find out that you were the
reason why, there will be steep consequences. Hyde
runs off to stop the last murder.

CUT TO:
EXT. STREET-NIGHT

Miss Petunia Gardener, a young woman with freckles on her face, a

small straw boater hat, a shawl, and a dress that exposes her cleavage
is down the poorly-maintained cobblestone street, unescorted. The
silhouette of a man with a knife trails behind her.
Hyde appears out of nowhere and attacks the silhouetted figure. The
young woman runs off screaming. A fight between Jack and Hyde ensues.
During the fight the two roll into the light and we see the ominous
man is Jack the Ripper who takes off running with Hyde hot on his
heels.
CUT TO:
EXT. ROOFTOP-NIGHT
Hyde pushes Jack to the edge of the roof and Jack falls off screaming.
A sickening thud is heard offscreen. Hyde climbs down and sees the
limp corpse of the murderer, and proceeds to spit on it with the
expression of disgust.
MR. HYDE
(huffing)
Thats what you get for framing me, you rotten
scoundrel
CUT TO:
INT. JEKYLLS DINING ROOM-DAY
Dr. Jekyll is reading the morning paper at the long mahogany dining
room table. The headline is about Hyde saving Jacks latest victim,
and how the body of the murderer was found dead on the streets. Jekyll
puts on his hat and jacket, and exits the house through the front
door, only to stop just outside the threshold and pull a small vial of
the potion out of his pocket, looking at it with a smile on his face.
