Loved this Story

I could take my time reading this story, mostly because I didn't

want it to end! Loved the characters and the friendships that are
formed as the story unfolds. Almost took one star off for
grammatical errors, but otherwise it was great. Looking forward
to reading more from this author!

A sweet, easy
romance

Good story and I had no trouble finishing it quickly. The word

requirement for Amazon reviews is annoying. I don't have
anything else to say.

Loved!!

I read this as part of the Amazon First program. I tend to stay

away from romance novels because they all tend to be similar
and I'm trying to broaden my horizons, but when I read the
excerpt for this one, I got completely sucked in. I read it in 2
days and was not disappointed. Definitely an "old-school"
romance novel but the author did a great job in making the story
about love - not just sex. A great read for someone looking to
spice up their imagination.

Good if you like

Got this through the Prime monthly benefit as this isn't the kind
of stories I usually read (I'm not so much into romance novels). I
read it over the weekend, mostly skimming the details that I
didn't think would make a difference to my enjoyment of the
story. The writing made me very interested in how the story
would come to its end, the only reason why I kept reading on.
Characters were believable and the storyline predictable
(though I would've been sadly disappointed if it ended
differently). I came to like the storyline and could do without the
sex scenes.

My favorite read so far, this summer! It was everything I was

looking for; funny, romantic, erotic and suspense. Carter &
Claire had me giving up my weekend for all day reading & I

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the writing style and fell in love
with the characters. It was passionate but not overbearing. I
was so invested in the story that I couldn't wait to see how the
secrets played out, but was sad that the story of Carter and
Claire would come to an end. I strongly recommend this for a
fun, easy, and loving read.

Read

Amber Ward's first erotica novel is a perfect summer read. Page

after page gives readers tantalizing details into the complex and
complicated relationship between Claire and Carter. As the two
main characters slowly let go of inhibitions and let their true

Amber has a great talent of giving readers exactly what they
want and yet still ready for more. This book is not only fun, it

wanting to devour every detail as their relationship takes on a
few twist and turns.
This book was my favorite of this year. It is a great erotica novel
that is hot and steamy in all the right places with characters that
you wish you knew personally.

I love the book. Claire is a sweetheart. I couldn't put it down

until I finished it.

GREAT READ!!!!

I actually enjoyed this book because it was sweet. There are a

few grammatical errors, and some of the details are off, for
instance, in the beginning of this book the author said that
Carter was 35yrs old, then later said he was 38yrs old. Details
need to be consistent, but nothing that really throws you off from
the story. It could have ended better because now I feel it was a
semi cliffhanger. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend.

Fell in love with Carter from the beginning. What woman in her
right mind wouldn't want a man to provide for, love, respect and
protect her? All the money is just gravy! The book is
contemporary and tastefully written. Lovely not having to bog
thru tons of profanity. I would read and recommend this author
again!

I Love this author could not put it down. Carter is a take charge
kind of guy. Claire is a strong independent woman not use to
anyone taking care of her, that all changed when she meets
Carter. The chemistry was strong. This book was hot...

Mystery finds
love...

This book was perfect, from the drama to action and best of all,
love. It was beautiful how such a strange situation brought two
people together!! I loved how Carter was a person who believed
in paying it forward, even for some stranger. By him being so
kind to Claire was truly an Awhh moment that I loved. And the
length he went to protect her was impeccable. What a real
man!!! I'm glad the ending was the way it was; however, I want
more, please!!!!! Their story needs to continue please!!!! I'm
dying for more!!

Great Book

This book was a fantastic read. The book kept one on their toes
with an interesting and suspenseful storyline. The chemistry
between the two main characters was awesome. I would read
another story by this author in a heartbeat. It really was a great
book.

True Alpha

Carter is the man! He's beautifully flawed---give it to you straight

and take no punches kind-of-guy. He brought Claire into his
world an immediately showed her how dark his world could be
but with that darkness he showed the capacity to love, honor
and respect as any true Alpha Carter takes care of business.

Carter!!!!!

This book was wonderful. I felt a little cheated when Carter and
Claire broke up. Maybe I was too invested, but a talented
romance writer makes us so and Ms. Ward is definitely talented.
Claire is a breath of fresh air in a genre that has been a little
stale lately. Amber does a great job showing the progression of
their relationship, and the strength, trust, and vulnerability
needed to make a relationship work. The raw honesty displayed
by Carter to Claire might have saved the relationship with her
grandfather.

Mad for Claire

Carter's story was well worth waiting for!! Claire is the perfect
woman for him. She's no pushover. The time she took to
acclimate herself to Carter's life is something I wish could have
more of. I can't wait to read more about Carter and Claire if
there's a sequel.

put down. Oh wait, I didn't put it down until I finished it. I will
definitely read this again. Get it! Worth the money & you won't

Arrived!!

Claire (reminds me of Piper from OITNB) works in a clinic and is

always in high demand. She's an educated, very independent,
strong minded woman who can do for herself without the needs
of a man that can't handle her passion. Carter is a very rich,
powerful & gorgeous man who needs her services to prove his
company is innocent of the charges filed against him. Sparks fly
between them but keeping secrets comes first.

WOW, I loved this read. The main character is on her game

when to comes to the courtroom; however, she is a little more
conservative when it comes to her love life. This writer paint the
characters in the story to make you think you are a part of the
story. The author is creative when it comes to the plot and how
the characters execute the storyline. I am anxiously awaiting
book 2 (if there is one). This is a terrific read you will not be
disappointed in your purchase.

Interesting and
intriguing story

I really enjoyed the story. I read it in a few hours. Claire, the

female lead was a very complex characters with my facets to
her personality. She grew up without her true birth parents and
never felt at home even though her foster parents loved her
very much. Along comes Carter, a true alpha male who saves
Claire from herself and her family and gives her a chance at
love. The plot was very detailed with lots of twists and turns.
Minor grammatical errors and one instance of a repetitive
paragraph in the early stage of the book. These issues did not
detract from the overall goodness of the book. Kudos on an
excellent story.

A roller coaster of
emotions

The first page to the last page held my interest. We have a

mystery and a falling in love story. Of course the mystery is not
easily solved from our perspective but it's still fun. The female
lead, Claire, was strong but flawed emotionally, and the author
did show change during the middle of the book

Really happy I bought this book! Love Carter and Claire . It was
both sad and happy! Sad that Carter lost his wife and child but
happy that he and claire got together, she is a very tough chick

Excellent read

Enjoyed it from start to finish. Love me some Carter - the visual

I have makes me sigh in frustration that I don't have him next to
me. Love the back and forth between the two main characters two strong personalities always make for and interesting read.
No disappointments with this story for me. The ending delivers
the "smack in the face" and I can only imagine what happens
afterwards.

Well I'm definitely sold on this new story. This was such a very
well-written story with such an interesting plot to go along. The
fact that we had a steamy romance thrown into the mix is just
added bonus. This was one enjoyable experience, it did not let
up for a moment. Carter and Claire are a couple you are going
Just Like It Sounds to love and cheer for. Well done Amber!

So good, could not put this book down!!!!...Loved how real it felt.
The love between Carter Voss and Claire was awesome....the
action and drama was well written and I fell in love with all of the

A must read with a great storyline. These characters bring the

storyline to life in a major way. Carter and Claire fall in love after
a planned encounter. Claire a twenty-something year old virgin
didn't know her actual parents but meeting Carter changes her
world. So many secrets revealed and snakes around that with

This book was the bomb, hands down. This book pulls you in
from chapter 1 page 1. I couldn't put it down. The character
interactions are the great and the romance scenes feel real as
hell. I loved this book. Can't wait for Amber's next one.

This book deserves more than five stars I couldn't put it down I
loved it from beginning to end I loved Carter and Claire
relationship I loved the fact that Claire was confident about her
innocene she didn't let no one bring her down and she didn't try
to just please everyone. I loved Carter but Claire knew how to
tame him. I am not going to give away any more details cause I
want you to see how it ends with Claire. I would highly
recommend this book keep up the good work looking forward to
reading more books from you.

Interesting
storyline!

Captivating Claire by Amber Ward seemed very different from

other books that I've read. It had a fresh new storyline. Carter
Voss is asked by a family friend to investigate Claire Woodruff.
He wants to know what type of relationship Claire has with his
son. So Carter opens up a law practice in the building in which
Claire works as a speech pathologist. Claire is frantic because
she has lost an important letter that indicates who her real
father is. So she ends up searching Carter's office, and he
catches her snooping. There is some really cute and humorous
banter between the two each time Claire comes across Carter. nev

Carter is not quick on the uptake that he is falling in love with

Claire. But he doesn't want to because 1. he lost his wife and

a virgin, and 3. he plans on leaving after the investigation is
done. This was a really good story, but there were a couple of
chessy moments especially towards the end. The ending was
very sudden and anticlimatic. So I deducted one point for that,
but it was an enjoyable read overall.

An Unexpected
Find

This is the first book by Amber Ward, I'm not sure if she is a new
author or an established one, however I absolutely loved this
book Carter and Claire where to me a realistic couple. Carter of
course was tall dark and handsome and Claire was beautiful (is
there any other way lead female characters can be?) Anyhow I
digress, Carter and Claire where characters with substance.
Claire wasn't meek, mild, poor or down trodden. She was a
confident, funny, emotionally stable career woman.

i am a full blooded black girl and i love reading about black

millionaires. you don't see too many stories about black men but
i thoroughly loved this. they first meet at a work and have an
early kiss but he wants to keep her at a distance. i don't know if
this author has any other books but i would like to try another
book by her.

Good read

Better than expected, as one reviewer said the heroine is not

the meek, no opinion type that is usually the idea of a woman
deserving of love. The hero is also some one who has feelings,
and shows doubt and vulnerability to the heroine. A man, not an
idea of what a strong man should be. After reading this book I
had to find other Amber Ward books.

Cute Story

What Carter went through with his past sounded sad but it
makes you happy to see that someone can move on and find
someone else. She seemed like a sweet character overall nice
book.

Come looking for

love

I loved this story and the fact that it was a full book, I didn't have
to wait months and months for a part two or three, all the drama
and emotions were all there for me to real in. I loved how I
never got bored, it was never a point were I'm like okay I don't
wanna read this anymore, I always was wanting more and
hoping it was never going to end. Any who, gonna be waiting for
Amber's next book.

Pretty Darn Good

Captivating Claire was an enjoyable fast paced read. The

author takes you from a somewhat spy story into an adult
romance. There was of course many lighthearted moments but
also contained some of the drama that keeps you coming back
for more. The characters were developed and the plot was
good. There was never a slow moment in the book so much so,
I hadn't realized I was at the end of the book until I read the last
line. Looking forward to her next one. I hope to see the
characters and their storylines develop even more.

Now that's how you write a book. I'm so sick of these 100 page
or less books and authors call them novels that's a short story.
But this was a novel and a good one at that. I really did like this
book the characters were well developed the story line was on
point. I hope this author does more soon and doesn't keep us
readers waiting to long for the next book. As long as an author
has quality work I'll pay for the book and this is quality work JOB
WELL DONE

This is not just another typical billionaire love story. I loved that
this story was different from any other book, and that the main
character (Carter) wasn't just some stuck up guy from the
burbs. He still had heart. Loved it! I also loved that it wrapped
up the story line of the main characters. Good job Amber! That's
how you do it girl!

This book was soooooo good!!! Let me say I love the fact that
authors are putting more of the innocent persuasion of women
in their books...and they're being the "star" as they say!! I got so

Amber, this book was so good!! I got mad as hell when I got to
the end because I wanted to keep reading more. This was a
good, solid book that was written very well. I love your style of
writing with the humor throughout. It's a breath of fresh air.
Between Carter and Claire, I don't know who I liked more. I
highly recommend this book and can't wait for your other books
Certified Winner!!! also. Keep up the excellent writing!!!

A good one by
Amber Ward

A satisfying romance with ample chemistry and emotional

connection between a likable couple. This one has a billionaire's
backdrop of expensive houses, private dinners, etc. I've never
read Amber Ward's work but I wasn't disappointed.

Sure, in real life, a billionaire doesn't fall for the regular girl - but
that's why I read romance because anything is possible. This
was a feel-good, falling-in-love story (but with plenty of steam!!).
There was no angst, no major drama, just two people
discovering they are perfect for each other. But I was also swept
away by the romance of this book and cannot recommend it
I am breathless in highly enough. Terrific first book by these Amber Ward - I am
love with this book! anxiously awaiting her next one!

morning intending to read for a few minutes. Didn't work that

Absolutely a wonderful story... the tenderness and affection

between the characters is so beautiful... this book makes you
laugh, makes you cry and makes you worry for one of the
characters... can't wait for the other books in this series. Ms
Amber has done a fantastic job with this story and I expect she

Always like to see a story where a person can change their life
for the better. An inspiring story of how one person started life in
a dark/difficult way with his father but put that in the past and
moved forward. Very moving as how Carter took to Claire and
also tried to make sure her life was for the better after what she
went through as a child. It's a great love story in the making as

Leaves you
breathless!

I really loved this book. Much more intelligent than the other rich
guy meets normal girl story. Sure he's broken but he get itt
together too. Yes love wins out but not without some stormy
moments. Jerks us out of our own limitations and grants us
freedom to grow. Can't wait for her next book.

A vacation in a
book.

Loved the development of the story. It starts out in what you

think is a predictable plot and then takes off. A sassy lead and
the mysterious new boss, throw in some very colorful
characters and a trip to a far off destination, whew a vacation in
a book. I highly recommend this one!

There is so much more that the romance it is hard to describe!
Complex stories about the characters and so much more.

The writing was seamless. I could not tell one style from the
other. Loved the story and was very pleased. It is a worthwhile
read you will not be disappointed.

When I started reading Captivating Claire, I thought I would be

able to predict the ending. The relationship of the two main
characters was so sweet and heartwarming. However, I was
totally surprised by the way things developed. Amber Ward
wrote a very interesting book that left me with much to think
