    Appraisal Lesson: - Performance of His Eye is On the Sparrow


    Tutor Comment

    This was a lovely musical performance, full of emotion. Tuning was excellent and
    the dynamic range shown within the piece was very good. Breath control was
    measured and Asena showed that she was really engaging with this song - it was
    very well portrayed to the listener.
    Peer Comment:

    The build up in this piece was really good - growing from a piano start to a
    crescendo ending portraying the theme of the song.
    EBI:

    We all considered that there is one note in a rr3odulatory chord which isn't absolute

    spot on in tune and this needs to be addressed if the piece is to progress. Also,
    Asena feels that she is limiting herself with some of the higher register ad libs that
    she could put in to this performance and this is something that she will be working
    on in future.
