Students From
International Schools

Majority, as expected, of the guests are from secondary schools from all over Singapore, parents and even
woodlands residents. However, Republic Polytechnics open house has also attracted the hearts of
students from ISS International School.

They came prepared with a small notebook in their hands and a pen to jot down all they need to know
about the school. That is what the grade 12 ISS international student, Themis and her schoolmates did.
RP held its three-day Open House beginning from 8 January 2015. The open house boasts a wide variety
of display and hands on booths so visitors are able to learn more about the various diplomas offered in the
7 schools in RP.
Its fun and interesting as I get to learn through the games and people like you (RP students), the
officials. said Themis as she shares her experience.
She added that student helpers are very friendly and are doing a good job so far
Before the actual open house, student helpers are briefed, trained and bonded during a 2 day 1 night
pre-open house camp conducted by Republic Polytechnics student council to prepare themselves for this
big event.
Neo Weilin, 17, a first-year general open house helper shares her experience of being a student helper in
the open house. This experience is very memorable for me as I made a lot of friends and it is not easy to
open up to people and be myself.
All in all, 16-year-old Fazilah Muhd Nazir, a student from CHIJ Secondary (Toa Payoh) described her
second experience in Republic Polytechnics open house being a pleasant one and would consider RP as
one of her JAE choices.
