Reduce the amount of added sugars you eat!


The American Heart Association recommends:

*The average
American consumes
22 teaspoons of
added sugars a day!!

Women 100 calories or less of added sugars per day (thats ~25 g. or 6 tsp.)
Men 150 calories or less of added sugars per day (thats ~38 g. or 9 tsp.)

The FDAs overall recommendation:


Women & Men 10% or less of total calories from added sugars (~50 grams/day)

The
U.S. Food and Drug Administration is now requiring that all food and beverage companies
disclose added sugars in terms of grams and daily recommended amounts.

Label

Manufacturers will need to use the new label by JULY 26, 2018. According to the FDA, smaller
companies will be granted an extra year to comply with these new regulations.

INTERESTING FACT
A 20-ounce bottle of regular Coca-Cola weighs in at 65g of sugar per serving, which is
15g over the FDAs recommended daily intake for sugar.
