Dear ESY Teaching Staff:


We are looking forward to a great July of ESY services. We wanted to connect with you about
some of the details for this summer. We will not be having a meeting this spring, instead we will
be meeting on the set-up day which is set for June 22, 2016. Additionally, the education
assistants will be invited in that day so that they are able to help with room preparations, read
educational plans, and attend the meeting.
Community Based Experiences are a common occurrence during ESY. The parameters for
these trips will be in the google file. In summary, these trips need to be geographically located
in the school district and directly related to the IEP goals and objectives. Each group will be
allotted two community outings during ESY. If you feel that your group needs to have more
community outings please e-mail Anne Grui. As a reminder ECSE and Elementary
programming will not be going on community outings. A google folder will be shared with the
form uploaded into it. Please make a copy of the form and title it with your last name. These
forms will be reviewed by June 15, 2016.
Walking Field Trips: If you would like to walk with your groups off campus you will also need to
fill out the Community Based Experience form in the google folder. Please save in the folder.
Purchases: Please remember that all purchases will need prior approval for
reimbursement. All groceries will be purchased at Almsteads Super Value. This is due to the
district having the ability to use a purchase order. A google folder will be sent out to you for the
requests. For all other purchases please fill out the form with detailed information including the
rationale for purchase. In the google folder you will find a blank form. Make a copy of the form
with your name in the title and a word describing what you are asking for. For example if I were
filling out the form wanting to buy groceries, title the form Grui Groceries. The forms must be
turned in by June 15, 2016.
June 22nd will be the preparation day for ESY. The meetings will be starting at 7:45 in each of
the buildings. The secondary meeting, which includes RTC, will be at Cooper High School in
the media center and the Elementary and ECSE meeting will be at Neill Elementary School in
room 132. The education assistants will be joining us at that time and will be paid for three
hours that day. At that time you will want to share the IEP and behavior plans with them. Any
additional time they have may be spent helping to set up the classroom.
