Lesson Learning Outcomes


By the end of the lesson the pupil will be able to:
1. Students will be able to use and explore their chosen font in this class.
2. Students will be able to illustrate their final design and incorporate an object of choice to
their poster.
3. Students will be able to identify and describe composition and what makes a strong
composition.
4. Students will be able to describe the balance and harmony in their design.
5. Students will be able to recognise the rule of thirds in their work.

Lesson Delivery
Entry Procedures:
Welcome class. Take roll call.
Body of the Lesson:
TT: instruct students to take out their objects. Pick a few to say who their chosen
musician is and why. Get the students to describe what they brought in as part of their
research for their poster.
TT: Power point on Henri Louise La- lutrec
TT: SL 1: Henri. Question pupils about Henri: Use of Lettering Scale, Contrast,
proportion, Composition and colour(O)

PT: Question pupils. Artist evaluation: Tell me what you see. Do you like the images?
Which do you prefer? Why? What similarities & contrasts can you see? Explain What is
composition? Why is the typography on a poster important? What does it need to tell
us? (O).

TT: Show visual aid of final design for poster A3 size. Describe how to use their
object of choice to influence their design.

PT: Draw their final design into their sketch books incorporating their object.
This can be used in the background or could be the foundation of their final
design.

TT/PT: Individual Evaluation. Success criteria: Self; Evaluation. Pupils to


describe their own work. Compositionplacement on page, Balance Is their
image well balanced compositionally.
Conclusion: Summary of what was learnt (poster design).
Homework: Practice Their typography and bring it in Monday.
Exit Strategy:
TT/PT: Tidy up. Line up at the door.
