Reading

Kindy NEWS 3

-We had our first Reading Workshop!

-We read words we knew in our
classroom.
-We read words in our world, like
STOP and the Target store.
-We read a non-fiction book about
bugs.
-We started buddy reading and
shared books with our reading
buddies.
-We practiced letter sounds /p/, /n/,
and /i/.
-We learned sight words You, I and
A.
Writing
-We had our first Writing Workshop!
We each wrote a story about
something we know a lot about (Ms.
Epstein wrote about her dog).
-We practiced writing the letters F,
and E using big lines, little lines, and
frog jumps.

Math
-We started a new pattern on our
September Calendar!
-We started our Numbers 1-10
number book.
-We practiced shape recognition using
our calendar.
-We played a dice game using unifix
cubes during math centers.
-We continued to practice sorting by
color, shape, and type of object.
Other News
-We completed MAP testing on the
iPads.
-We began using Class Dojo for
individual positive behavior points!
-We passed level 2 with our iPads
and earned a new sticker.
-We continued to practice our
P.A.W.S principles and what school
expectations look like.
