Reading

Kindy NEWS 4

-We read the book Chrysanthemum

and counted how many letters in our
names.
-We learned letter sounds c/k, e, and
h.
-We practiced sight words in, it, and
said.
-We read Have you Filled a Bucket
Today? and discussed how to be
bucket fillers not dippers.
-We read Humpty Dumpty and
practiced pointing to each word as we
read, we also discussed the beginning,
middle, and end of stories.
-Using SeeSaw, each child found a
picture of their name in the classroom
and took a photo of it!
Writing
-We practiced writing numbers 1
and 2.
-We learned, When you are
done youve just begun! and
the importance of detail
and revision in our writing.
-We are continuing to
practice using our best
pencil grips.

Math

-We continued to discuss our pattern in

our calendar and naming shapes.
-We learned a new counting song, all the
way to 100!
-We noticed vertical patterns on our
number chart.
-We learned the words same and
different and practiced sorting in
various ways.
-We are continuing to build numeral
recognition and introduced ten frames!
Other News
-We earned our first whole class reward
on Class Dojo!
-Many children received PAWS for
following school expectations.
-We celebrated Danny C.s birthday!
-We completed our iPad training! iPads are
sent home for the weekend!
