Charitable Society registration in Delhi is governed by the Society Registration Act, 1860. This
act regulates formation of Society and its governance. The Societies Registration Act, 1860 was
enacted for improving the legal condition of societies established for the promotion of literature,
science, or the fine arts, or for the diffusion of useful knowledge or for charitable purposes.

Socity Registration Process in Delhi

Any seven or more persons associated for any literary, scientific or charitbable purposes can
form society under above mentioned act. No limit of maximum number is given in the act.
Following documents needs to submitted with Registrar of Society
1- Memorandum of Association (MOA): MOA shall contain following details
The name of the Society. Name should not be identical with existing Society
registered under Society Registration Act, 1860

Objects of the society

names, addresses, and occupations of the governors, council, directors,
committee, or other governing body to whom by the rules of the society, the
management of its affairs is entrusted
Rules and Regulations of the Society
Proof of Identity and address of Governing Body Members
Address proof of the Registered office i.e Electricity Bill or Water Bill or Property
Documents
NOC from the owner of address of registered office

Note: Member or governing body names given in the MOA and Rules and regulations should
not be blood-relative or in relation otherwise.

Society Registration fee

Society Registration fee in Delhi starts from Rs. 7000.
