The University of Yale is a big college that allows for a lot of opportunities to figure out
what one wants to do after college. It makes sure that one gets all the education one needs and
wants to succeed in life. Yale University (YU) was founded by ten Congregationalist ministers in
1701. It is the third oldest institution of higher education in the country. Attending YU sets one
up for success post-baccalaureate life because of its remarkable mechanical engineering
program, its wide variety of student activities, and its abundant financial aid assistance.

Engineering and Applied Sciences is one of the top engineering schools in the United States, and
is recognized worldwide as an excellent school of engineering." Yale has different types of
mechanical engineering programs. It has a b.s. degree program in mechanical engineering, a b.s.
degree program in engineering sciences (mechanical), and a b.a. degree program in engineering
sciences (mechanical). There are 19 term courses beyond prerequisites for the b.s. mechanical
engineering, 12 term courses beyond prerequisites for the b.s engineering sciences, and 8 term
courses beyond prerequisites for the b.a. engineering sciences (yale.edu.) It takes about four to
five years to graduate from the mechanical engineewithring program (tryengineering.org.)

Roughly around 60 engineering majors graduate each year. One can get a job working on
aerospace, automotive, construction, energy, manufacturing, medicine, railway, and sport.
Other than the mechanical engineering program, attending YU sets one up for success in
post-baccalaureate because of its wide variety of student activities. There are a lot of student
activities one can get involved in on campus. According to giftedstudy.org, "Student activities
enhance the challenging academic curriculum through additional social and cultural interaction."
There are about 45 plus students in almost every club or activity (yale.edu.) These student
activities or clubs aim at trying to teach leadership and teamwork (yale.edu.) It can also help one
with other things during and after college. If one liked to joining a lot of clubs and activities in
high school, then this is perfect for that type of person. As always, these are optional to
participate in which would be a good idea to better one's personality and skills.
Lastly, attending YU sets one up for success in post-baccalaureate life because of its
abundant financial aid assistance. The tuition at YU is pretty expensive, therefore needing a good
financial aid. According to yaledailynews.com, "Based on the detailed financial information a
students family submits, and using federal criteria and the Universitys own need-based policies,
Yale develops a financial aid package that enables student and family to meet the full cost of
attendance without requiring loans." There are a few different types of financial aid. There are
scholarships, merit-based scholarships, entitlement grants, term-time jobs, and educational loans.
There are quite a few options that could help one pay for the school and get good education.
About 50% of the students at YU are receiving some type of financial aid
(rankingsandreviews.com.) The average financial aid package is around 52,000 dollars
(collgeboard.org.) That is a lot considering that the tuition for the school is about 49,000 dollars.

The deadline for the financial aid application is March 1.This is crucial to know if one wants to
get financial aid.
Attending Yale University sets one up for success post-baccalaureate life because of its
remarkable mechanical engineering program, its wide variety of student activities, and its
abundant financial aid assistance. Yale's engineering program is really great for setting one up to
achieve becoming an engineer, especially with its high graduation rate. The variety of student
activities are great as well because it really helps people with becoming better leaders and
learning to use teamwork to be successful. Lastly, the financial aid is big in a school like this.
This university is pretty expensive and is not easy to get into. YU understands that not everyone
can pay the tuition plus more. So it tries to help out every student that needs help paying for the
school whether if it is a scholarship or a loan. YU is a really great school that guarantees
everyone to graduate and get into business or any job after college.
