As the full-day training explored, the updated version was a refresher on creating and
maintaining a safe learning environment for each child. It comes under standard 6 as it is a
mandatory part of PD hours. Anything to do with responding to abuse and neglect must be
discussed with leadership and family/guardians which is why you must be able to engage
professionally with colleagues, parents and the community.
