Quality Council of India (QCI) is an autonomous body setup by Government of India, with a mission to lead nationwide quality
movement by involving all stakeholders for emphasis on adherence to quality standards in all spheres of activities primarily for promoting
and protecting interests of the nation and its citizens. The various boards of QCI are
NABCB it provides accreditation to Certification and Inspection bodies;
NABH it establishes and operates accreditation program for healthcare organisations;
NBQP it works on the vision of promoting quality of life for the Citizens of India;
NABET it provides accreditation to education, training and consultants organizations;
NABL it provides accreditation to Conformity Assessment Bodies including testing, medical and calibration laboratories, proficiency testing
providers and reference material producer.

FOCUS AREA
This seminar is inclined towards the role of laboratory accreditation in facilitating the Government, Regulators and
Industries to make decisions on the acceptance of tests and calibration results. The thrust will be on:
Views of Ministries, Government Departments and Regulators on third party assessments, as an effective tool in
negotiating the domestic and cross-border trade;
Strengthening the acceptance of accreditation in various sector specific regulatory bodies;
Experiences of Industries on the importance of measurement results generated by accredited laboratories;
Insights on accreditation infrastructure and NABLs achievements.
