Asset Integrity Department in ASPC is a new and special structure in Iranian Oil and Gas

companies, who is accountable for development of Integrity Management on the physical Assets
through close interaction with Maintenance, engineering and Operation departments, for the
purpose of achieving organizational strategic plan.
SAMI model has been referenced for physical Asset management System.
All Technical Inspections in ASPC is one of AID main accountabilities, but there are some
additional and critical functions which create this department exclusive from Inspection bodies in
other Iranian Oil and Gas companies. There is overall view on Asset Functions in following Map:

Blue functions (boxes) are performed in most Iranian OIL & Gas companies
Yellow functions are performed in a few companies
Red functions are just performed in ASPC

Development of Risk Based Inspection Strategies in ASPC plants for Piping System and
Statutory Equipment.

Determination of Inspection strategies for the furnaces, PRDs, Fixed equipment, piping
System, ISO-Tankers, Pressure Gas Cylinders, Valves and other accessories.

Fitness For Service Assessment.

Decision making on the out of Standard and/or exemption cases.

Monitoring on the Asset Integrity main Processes.

Development and monitoring of Integrated Management System (IMS) in Asset integrity


department .

Material Selection and Analysis.

Metallurgical Examinations in Asset Integrity Laboratory.

Technical RCA and Reports.

Inspection GROUP

QA/Qc on the fabrication processes including of mechanical ,welding and NDT inspections
on the new projects and maintenance activities.

Inspection of incoming Materials.

Control/ Shield & Unshield of Radioactive Level Gauges

In-service inspection on the piping system and statutory equipment

Inspection and certification of the lifting equipment.

Inspection and control on the calibration process for the pressure relief devices.

Inspection and testing on the reconditioned valves.

Periodical inspection on the critical auxiliary component such as Spring Hangers, Flame
Arrestors, Flexible Hoses.

Inspection and monitoring of the furnaces.

Periodical Inspection on Portable Gas cylinders, ISO-Tankers and Bomb Samplers

Technical RCA and Reports.

Continuous Condition Monitoring of Equipment by:

Vibration Measurement and Analysis (Online & Offline) on 434 Equipment including of
Electric Motor, Steam Turbine, Fan, Gear Box, Pump, Compressor (Centrifugal,
Reciprocating, Screw)

Oil Analysis: 71 Equipment (Transformer & Rotary equipment)

Inspection and Verification of new purchased oils

Sound Analysis: 28 Equipment

Occasional Condition Monitoring of Equipment's (Thermography, Performance Analysis,


Motor Current Analysis)

Technical RCA and Reports.

Risk Based Inspection
To have an integrate and trustable Risk based Inspection System we have a project to
improve the system in two phase:

Development of existing RBI System in BPMS

Transition of our qualitative RBI to the quantitative model based on API-581-2008,

Fitness for Service


We need a reliable system for taking decision for the out of standard deviations and equipment
disposal, especially for the pressurized system. FFS system based on API 579 is the one of major
and applicable resources which we can use. AID has designed a FFS project to make the
fundamentals
in
this
regard.

In ASPC we have started to lay the foundations of HAM as the only Iranian company which care
about
this
important
system.

We are going to develop international regulations by development of AIA in our organization to be
able
to
certify
for
the
statutory
inspections
in
Iran.

Cathodic
Protection
system
Actually we are doing the C.P. measurements bimonthly for all plants and the transformer
rectifiers are being monitored/ controlled weekly on beside. It means there is not any control
between
the
mentioned
periods.
Now we are going to create an online monitoring system on our C.P. to increase the trustability
and reliability of the system.
