CURING PROCESS

Hydration in concrete begins to take place immediately after the water and cement are mixed. It
is rapid at first, then tapers off as time goes on. Theoretically, if no water ever evaporates,
hydration goes on continuously. Practically, however, all water is lost through evaporation, and
after 28 days, hydration nearly ceases, although some continues for about a year.(John E.
Ball,2004)
