Yourpiriformisispositionedimmediatelyadjacenttothesciaticnerve,averythicknervewhichrunsfromthebaseofyourspinealongyourglutemusclesanddowntheback
ofyourlegs,providingthenervesignalsthatallowallofthemusclesonthebacksideofyourlowerbodytofirewhenneeded.

Iusedtosufferfromthatsamekindofpaininmylefthip.Iwasneversureifitwaslinkedtothepiriformismuscleorifitwasduetotheeffectualgait
causedbymydifferentsizedfeet(2shoesizesdifferent).ThepainwasworstwhilesittingforalongperiodoftimeandjustslightlynaggingwhileI
wasrunning.Ilimitedmyrunningandbegantodostrengthtrainingexercisesonmylegslikesquats,machinelegpress,etc.Thepainhasbeengone

Imnotarunner,butIexerciseonanEllipticalmachine.AfewmonthagoIhadkneesurgeryonrightlegandwasrecoveringquitewell.Ibentdown

Iamalmost100%surethatmyinjuryispiriformissyndromebutmyproblemisthatIhavehardlybeenabletogetoutofbedforthelasttwo
weeks.Igetupinthemorningthinking(likethismorning)finallyitisgettingbetterbutnowhilestandingformorethanaminutethepain
returnsandtheonlyreliefIgetfromthepainiseitherlyingdownorsquatingdown.Thelastisonlypossibleforafewminutes.Thisisenough
togetbacktobed.Allofthediscussionsandthingssaidaboutthisnevermentionthisextreme.ThesepastweeksIhavebeenintheER.
Beeninhospitalgettingmainlypainrelief.Ihavehadthreedifferentscans,Onenormalscan.Onewithcontrastfluid,Andonewithcontrast
fluidthatgoesintothebones.Nothingwasfound.AndthedoctorendedupsayingthatthepainIfeltdidnotaddup.Aburningpainthatcame
deepfromthehip.Itstartedwithkidneystonesandendedwithbackpaintests(centraldiscsetc.)Nothingoutoftheordinarywasfound.Ileft
thehospital(whichseemedtobetotheirlikingbecausetheycouldfindnothingwrong)andreceivedandinjectionfromasportdoctorclose
tothelowerconnectionpointofthepiriformismuscle.Thishelpedforawhilebuttodayitcamebackfullblast.Thisisgoingintoitsthirdweek
