English 1010

Better Now
While I was writing my research essay I learned how to cite multiple texts and
incorporate them into my writing. Before I took English 1010 when I would try and incorporate a
quote into my writing, it always seemed choppy; now I can incorporate a quote smoothly into my
writing without hindering the flow of my paper. I moreover, now know how to correctly cite my
sources and the other sources that I didnt directly use in my paper. I still need to remind myself
of what is needed on a properly cited source, science it changed in 2016. However I have all the
resources I need to be able to cite my sources, and incorporate them into my papers. I am now
prepared to write future papers because, of English 1010.
In English 1010 I have further learned how to adapt to different purposes, audience and
genre, which was neglected in all my high school English classes. I have learned how to write
formal and informal letters. I know that skill will help me in my future career. I have also learned
how to write a rhetorical analysis, a critical response, and a research paper. I know I am a much
better and stronger writer because, of learning how to write different genres, and different
audiences. I have additionally learned all of the rules needed to write with proper grammar. I
still need to work on my grammar, and I am fairly sure that it will be a lifelong battle, but now I
know what the rules are, and I can catch my grammar mistakes when I edit my papers. So I dont
write with perfect grammar yet but, one day I will.
