ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

A t the outset, I offer my obeisance to the supreme scholars Panini and

Bhattojidiksita, the works o f whom blessed me throughout the entire project. Their
inspirational works acted as a guiding star and dwelled through out the endeavour.
Dr.Suresh Chandra B ora, my guide, has put his wholeheartedness andfullest efforts to
shape this piece o f work

I offer my salutation and gratitude to him . Prof. Ram

Prpsanna Bhattacharya, who left me in the midst o f this project fo r his heavenly abode,

was my mentor. It was through his golden ways that I was introduced to Sanskrit, since
my childhood days. He acquainted me to the great names o f Panini, Patahjali,
Bhattojidiksita and other Sanskrit grammarians and paved the way fo r me to study
Sanskrit Grammar. I dedicate my whole endeavour to that holy soul. I offer my thanks to
my teachers Dr. Dipak Kumar Sarma and Dr. Srutidhara Chakraborty who have helped
me with their valuable advises whenever necessary. I cannot forget the contributions o f
Dr.Sudhendu Mohan Bhadra and Dr.Mukta Biswas and their timely help and
cooperation in framing this work I convey my heartfelt gratitude to them all. My
brother, Sakti Prasarma Bhattacharya, an I.T. professional, has a deep inclination
towards the subject. His invisible and concerted help has acted as a magic wand in this
work I acknowledge with gratitude the help I received from Ms. Angshumala Sarma, a
fam ily friend at Hyderabad and my brother-in-law Sri Arindam Ganguli at California.
They have helped me greatly and on umpteen times. I thank my husband, Sri Devojyoti
Mukherjee, who has helped me in every step during this project. My love and blessings to
my two little daughters, Devangana and Devastuti, fo r the pains they have taken and fo r
their seclusion from me. They had borne it with me throughout this project and
were deprived from my company and care on several instances. My mother, Smti Ashoka

Bhattacharya had silently caressed me throughout. I don 7 have words to express m

thanks to her. Late Sri Paramesh Chandra Mukherjee, my father-in - law was a soon e <
incessant courage and strength. I offer my gratitude to him and pray fo r his eterna
peace.
Last but not the least; / thank Mr. Kalicharan Das and Raja who have take
utmost care in typing out this project.
