some people say it is important to protect all wild

animals. other, however say it is only important to

protect some wild animals, not all of them.

Human activities are mainly responsible for imminent extension of many species of wild
animals. It is often argued that only species that are more useful to human beings should be
protected while others disagree and believe it is right of all wild animals. It can be agreed that
all wild animals are important for our ecosystem and need to be protected. This essay will
elaborate both point of views and thus, will lead to a logical conclusion.
At the outset, there are many reasons why all wild animals should be protected, but the most
important one stems from the fact that they are essential for healthy and functional
ecosystem. If any wild animal is extracted from its natural habitat, the delicate balance of the
ecosystem will be disturbed which will lead to calamitous results. For instance, there is a
wide diversity of species living in a tropical rain forest. If any species should become extinct,
the food chain will be disrupted affecting all the species of animals, which ultimately will
affect human beings. A recent study estimated that the extinction rate has increased a
hundredfold over the last century.
However, some people adopt an opposing view and tend to believe that
only some animals that are more useful for human beings should be
protected. Millions of people worldwide are dependent on animals for food,
medicine and safety.

From what has been discussed above it can be concluded that all animals
are equal in importance
