Introduction
The Department of Chemistry has been started from the inception of the
College in the year 1956.
Chemistry related B.Sc Courses offering the College.
B.Sc(M.P.C) English Medium or Telugu Medium
B.Sc(B.Z.C) English Medium or Telugu Medium
B.Sc( B.C.Bt) ) English Medium
B.Sc (B.C.IMb) English Medium

The Department is also offering the Post-graduation course of M.Sc in

Chemistry with the specialization of Organic Chemistry since 2003.

The Department has 3 fully equipped Laboratories for the UnderGraduation course, for teaching B.Sc Practical Chemistry Papers I,II, III,
and IV. In addition to that, 3 more Laboratories are also available for PstGraduation course of M.Sc Chemistry.
The Department also has a Store-room, Balance-room, and an LPG-unit in
another room. The Department also has a Seminar Hall, Departmental
library, Separate toilets for boys and girls.

Our Teaching & Evaluation Procedure:

1. We conduct the B.Sc Chemistry theory classes and B.Sc Chemistry
Practical classes July through February in the academic-year, as per
the almanac of affiliating University, i.e Satavahana University.
Students are required to check periodically the Department Noticeboard.
A minimum of 75% of attendance is mandatory for registering for
University Exam.
2. Slip tests, assignments, unit-test, students project, class-seminars,
quiz, and group discussion, are conducted to assess the students
academic performance. In addition, essay writing, elocution are also
conducted to assess the co-curricular aptitude.
3. Marks list is displayed on the Departmental Notice-board every
week.
4. Chemistry Labs are conducting regularly from June to January .

5. Department is conducting extension lectures, inviting eminent

professors and subject experts from prestigious institutions every
month.
6. The Department has prepared various low-cost chemistry models
and kept them available for the benefit of the students.
7. Department is also actively participating in community service
activities like Telangana Haritha Haaram, Swachh Bharat, Womens
Equality day, Teachers day celebration, Anti-ragging awareness
programmes.
8. The students of Chemistry Departments motivate to take active part
in all extra-curricular activities of the College like NCC, NSS,JKC
Clean & Green programmes etc.
9. The faculty of Department of Chemistry sanctioned Minor Research
Project from UGC and attending various National and International
Seminars/Workshops.

The Department is organizing Field-Trip to IICT, CCMB, drug
industries, NTPC, Dairies, Small scale industries every year.
11.
The Department is conducting quiz competitions and
awareness on chemistry Labs to the Model School students every
year and distributed prizes.
12.
The Department has organizing talent test and Guest Lectures
to the Intermediate Students of Govt. Colleges.
13.
The Department of Chemistry is offering M.Sc Chemistry
Entrance free coaching long term and short term from 2013.
14.
From 2013, above 30 students got admission for M.Sc
Chemistry in various Universities like OU, KU, HCU,SU
15.
M.Sc students are taking classes for UG students in
enhancement of teaching skills of the students.
