PRESENT SIMPLE SPELLING

Be careful with some words when using the 3rd person


singular.
1. Verbs ending in a sibilant [s] [z] [] [] [] [] or
verbs ending in o preceded by a consonant: We add
-es to the infinitive.

verbs ending in 'y' preceded by a vowel (a, e,


i, o, u): Add -s.

verbs ending in 'y' preceded by a consonant:


Change 'y' to 'i' and add 'es'.
I hurry - he hurries

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
1. Something happening at the moment of speaking:
Im reading a book now
2. Temporary situations and facts:
Im working this month at the market
3. Future meaning (arrangements which will certainly
take place soon):
Im going to England next month
4. For showing disappointing actions(normally with
always, forever, constantly):
He is always asking me for money
