Each dot represents a student and the lines


represent holding hands.
2. Each student is first given a card with either,
nucleus, cell body/soma, myelin sheath, axon,
vesicles, pre-synaptic membrane or post synaptic
membrane.
3. They then have to find the other students in their
team and discuss what role they play in synaptic
transmission.
4. After this short discussion (approx. 5 mins) the
students need to organise themselves into a
neuron and re-enact the process, (they should look
like the diagram outlined).
5. The students who are the post-synaptic membrane
get to decide whether they let the vesicles
through. Once the vesicles have reached the other
side they need to decide whether they are
