Paul Edgerley Chairman SC STL The Plaza in Clayton 190 Carondelet Plaza Suite 1200 Clayton, MO 63105
Dear Mr. Edgerley,
In December 2015, we announced Major League Soccers plan to expand to twenty-eight Clubs, the first two of which are targeted to begin play in 2020. MLS has been working closely with SC STL for over a year, and we firmly believe SC STL is the ideal ownership group to provide St. Louis the best opportunity for a future expansion team. We are confident that your downtown stadium site is the best location for a new MLS stadium. Should SC STL be granted an MLS expansion club and execute the downtown stadium plan, St. Louis will be granted an MLS All-Star Game within five years of the St. Louis inaugural MLS season. In addition, as it has done successfully with cities throughout North America, MLS will use best efforts to work with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) in order to place high-profile international matches in St. Louis. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions. Sincerely,
