About This Chapter

This describes the performance data for deep problem location.
7.1 Subscriber Interface Tracing
Subscriber interface tracing indicates that the signaling of a specified call is traced on the LMT
service maintenance system and the traced result is displayed in the window of the maintenance
console. For the CDMA2000 1X&1xEV-DO system, the Um interface, Abis interface, A1
interface, A3 interface, A7 interface, A9 interface, A11 interface, A12 interface, A13 interface,
and A16 interface.
7.2 RFMT
This describes how to use the RFMT to deeply locate problems. The RFMT is used to record
forward/reverse radio environment information and call feature information. The forward and
reverse radio environment information includes the carrier transmit power and reverse RSSI.
The call feature information includes branch status, forward and reverse FER, forward and
reverse Eb/Nt, forward code channel power of the branch, receiving power of the MS, forward
Ec/Io, SCH application, rate transmission over the SCH.
7.3 CHR
This describes how to use the CHR to deeply locate problems. The CHR is used to record all
the important events that occur after a call is set up and before the call is released. A CHR record
is generated after the call is terminated. The system sends the records that meet the specified
requirements to the BAM, which then analyzes the data.
7.4 PSMM Data Collection
This describes how to use PSMM (1X) data to deeply locate problems. The PSMM (1X) data
collection function obtains the information about the radio environment and the features of the
terminal through collecting the PSMM/PPSMM/EPSMM messages or air interface messages
such as CFSRPT and provides the information to the Nastar for the optimization of the
neighboring cells and analysis of network coverage quality.
7.5 RouteUpdate Data Collection
This describes how to use RouteUpdate (1xEV-DO) data to deeply locate problems. The
RouteUpdate (1xEV-DO) data collection function obtains the information about the radio

environment of the AT through collecting the RouteUpdate air interface message reported by
the AT and provides the information to the Nastar for the optimization of the neighboring cells
and analysis of network coverage quality.
7.6 BTS Reverse RSSI Exception Check
This describes how to use the BTS reverse RSSI exception check function to deeply locate
problems. This function is used to collect the data of the reverse main and diversity receiving
signal strength.
7.7 IMSI Tracing on the BTS Side
This describes how to perform IMSI tracing on the BTS side to deeply locate problems. The
IMSI tracing function on the BTS SideRecord the forward and reverse wireless environment

Function Description
Through the subscriber interface tracing, you can:
l

Trace the signaling messages over multiple interfaces based on the IMSI that the subscriber
uses.

Trace different interfaces.

Display the traced data online, save the traced data, and review the traced data offline.

Application Scenario
You can start the subscriber interface tracing to monitor the signaling information of a specified
subscriber and check whether the signaling interaction has exception from the signaling
information .

Procedure
Step 1 Select the Maintenance tab, and then lick the Tracing node under the cdma 1X&EV-DO BSC
Navigation Tree.
Step 2 Double click Subscriber Interface Tracing.
The Subscriber Interface Message Tracing dialog box is displayed.
Step 3 Select the type of the interface to be traced, and then enter the IMSI of the subscriber to be traced,
as shown in Figure 7-1.

Step 4 The traced information is displayed in the right pane of Service Maintenance System. To view
the detailed information about a record, double-click this record.
Step 5 To stop the subscriber interface tracing, close the right pane of Service Maintenance System or
right-click and select Stop Tracing Task.
NOTE

You can start the subscriber interface tracing for multiple times to trace the signaling information of
different subscribers. You can trace the signaling information of different interfaces for one subscriber.

----End

Postrequisite
By default, the data file is saved in ..\Airbridge\OutputFile\trace\user. The name of the data
file is date_time_user.dat, where date indicates the date in which the interface tracing is started
and time indicates the time at which the interface tracing is started. You can modify the name
of the data file as required rather than change the directory in which the data file is saved. If you
change the directory, the data cannot be reviewed.
You can review the data file of the subscriber interface tracing on the LMT service maintenance
system offline.
