Doris McLaren

Doris May (Thomas) Brandon McLaren


1929 - 2017
Doris was born and raised in the Moose Jaw area. In 1951 she married Albert Brandon and raised 5
children. Mom was a member of The UCW "willing workers" and choir and an avid bunco player. In
1963 the family moved to Assiniboia where she was a girl guide Commissioner, curling & square
dancing. In 1970 the family moved to Prince Albert. Mom was convener for the Red Cross Blood
Donor Clinic for many years. In 1997 Mom married J. Murray McLaren. They were active in COPS,
Historical society & Eastern star/Masons. Doris was predeceased by her husband Albert of 45 years
in 1996; Dad's brothers Howard and Mary Brandon; Edward and Ernest (in infancy); Dad's sisters
Mabel & Peter Campbell; Milly & Roy Martin; nephew Donald Hoy; second husband Murray of 19
years in 2016. She is survived by Elaine (Steve) Helewka, Robert and Richard; Rodney (Sharon
Reid), Tricia & Ryan Norman, Griffin, Poppy, Hawksley and Charlie; Christopher (Rena) Quincy;
Kevin (Barb), Jon (Legan Elphinstone), Andrew, Tim; Michael, Kyle; Brenda (Dave) Ramsbottom,
Thomas Abbott (Tyra Bernhardt) Thane; Mathew (Chelsea) Abbott; Jordan Abbott; her sister Eugenie
Thomas-Hoy & children David (Donna), Dale (Jen) and families; Murrays children Bonnie & Garth

Byers; Dale & Jannus McLaren; Gary & Shelley McLaren; Glenda & Scott Pollock; Heather
McLaren; Sherri McLaren and their families; as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service
will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Grays Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street
West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Ed Olfert officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In
lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made to the PA Shriners/Children's Hospital.

Gray's Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
