    Talks Resuming Between Board


    and its Teachers Union

    Business As Usual at Thunder Bay Catholic Schools Next Week


    The Board advises that it will be meeting with the Elementary teachers Union
    (OECTA) and a provincially-appointed mediator on Tuesday, January 31 and
    Wednesday, February 1. There will be no work stoppage before or on those days.
    We remain optimistic that these negotiations result in a mutually-equitable
    resolution, says Director of Education, Pino Tassone.

    The scheduled talks mean that its business as usual at all 18 elementary schools in
    the Board.

    The Union had threatened to commence rotating strikes at various schools as early
    as Monday, January 30. A total of 15 elementary (JK-6) and 3 senior elementary
    (7&8) schools would be affected.
