SUBJECT: MINFORD COUPLE ARRESTED FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware
announce that on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at approximately 1:45p.m., the Southern
Ohio Drug Task Force. with assistance from detectives and with the Portsmouth Police
Department, executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the residence of David and
Jennifer Lavey located at 9275 State Route 139 Minford, Ohio.
Detectives seized approximately 11 grams of suspected heroin along with additional
evidence related to drug trafficking.
41 year old David Lavey and 36 year old Jennifer Lavey were arrested and charged
with Trafficking in Drugs with-in the vicinity of a juvenile, a felony of the 1 st degree, and
Possession of Drugs, a felony of the 2nd degree.
Scioto County Children Services responded to the scene upon request.
The Laveys were placed in the Scioto County Jail and were to be arraigned in
Portsmouth Municipal Court on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 9:00a.m.
The case will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutors Office to be presented
to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony drug related
charges.
