MENDOZ A

V INE YA R D

TECHNICA L DATA

Terroirs: This is a blend of different terroirs within Mendoza. A

portion of the blend comes from the Uco Valley, an-up-and-coming
grape growing area in the foothills of the Andes (3,600ft elevation), an
area characterized by very poor stony soils. Also, we take advantage of
the coolness of the area to grow Ct (a singular French version of
Malbec). This distinct Malbec varietal, brings elegance, structure and
color to the blend. Another portion comes from Agrelo, an historic
zone within Mendoza that has richer soil but older vines which allows
for softer tannins. The final portion of the blend comes from Eastern
Mendoza. Each vineyard source gives the blend its unique
characteristics.

V INTAGE 20 1 4

Due to high December temperatures, 2014 was anticipated to be an

early vintage, but this was compensated by a cool second part of February, bringing harvest
timing back to normal. Additionally, a cool month of March helped produce elegant and supple
Malbec grapes. An early de-leafing in the vineyard was conducted, allowing the fruit to ripen to
full maturity.

A cool pre-fermentation maceration for 5 days at 50F to enhance color and flavor extraction is
allowed to take place. A slow cool fermentation takes place over 7 days time using cultured yeast.
Wine is then pressed and racked into French and American oak where it is aged up to two years,
depending on vintage.
