This article reports on the importance of a principals influence on effective
instruction with regards to increasing teacher capacity. Conducting substantive
teacher evaluations and feedback, providing professional development and
coaching based on the identified needs of staff, utilizing technology for
efficient communicative use amongst staff, and affirming and celebrating work
and efforts are all noted as essentials for building capacity. Principals can use
this information as a tool to inform their professional practice by taking a
proactive approach with aligning professional development needs of staff to the
schools vision and mission to ensure a learning environment committed
towards continuous improvement.

The findings of this article involve how principals need to respond to the digital
age and how this affects instructional practices by emphasizing the push-pull
phenomenon of this alluring digital world. The article highlights the following
factors that are vital for implementing this new pedagogy: engagement of staff
and students, efficient and easy to use, accessible twenty-four hours per
day/seven days a week, and rooted in real-life problem solving. The
