Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective

case, around the seeds of the cotton plants of the genus Gossypium in
the family of Malvaceae.
Archaeologists found cloth fragments in the Indus Valley of India
(Pakistan) dating about 3000 B.C. In 1500 B.C., cotton was referred
to in a Hindu Rig Veda hymn mentioning "threads in the loom."
Cotton was grown by American Indians in the early 1500's.
Cotton is a soft, absorbent and breathable natural fibre, making
it the perfect fibre for clothing and undergarments worn close to
the skin
Cotton keeps the body cool in summer and warm in winter
