Description of how to implement in the class: The equipment needed for this activity in class
would be a computer and projector. Teacher can introduce the topic by relating it to fitness and the
important of exercise. Teacher can ask students to list or name as many exercises that they know.
Teacher can move through each exercise and have students perform each activity.
I believe this is a good lesson idea for elementary students because children at this age do not
really understand the importance of exercise, also they are not aware of all the different types of
exercises that are available. Physical Education is not just about playing sports or games, it is about
establishing a healthy lifestyle idea for each student to carry with them for the rest of their life.
Most students do not like to play just sports, and I believe this is a great way to introduce different
ways to get our students active.
* Examples of common instructional models include whole group, teacher-led, student self-paced, small
group, or individual learning activities. Use as many of these descriptors or other descriptors as apply.
