1.Introduction

ThesearetheOfficialTournamentTermsandConditions(OfficialRules)governingthe
VainglorySummerSeasonseriesofcompetitiveleaguesandevents(Tournament)brought
toyoubyTwitchInteractive.,Inc.(Twitch)andSuperEvilMegaCorp,Inc.(SEMC)beginning
June26,2016.TheseOfficialRulessetforththetermsandconditionsforparticipatinginthe
Tournament,includingtheofficialgameplayrulesforVainglory,asoutlinedinExhibitA,below.
AllPlayersandTeams,asdefinedbelow,mustcomplywiththerulesandrestrictionsdescribed
intheseOfficialRules,andshallbesubjecttoitsterms,including,withoutlimitation,theCodeof
ConductandthePlayerRelease.PleasereviewtheseOfficialRules,includingtheTournament
Rules,beforeapplyingfortheTournament,andagainimmediatelypriortoyourfirstGame.
Pleasebeadvisedthatthesetermsaresubjecttochange,asdeterminedbytheTournament
Organizersintheirsolediscretion.IntheeventofchangestotheOfficialRulesorTournament

Rules,updateswillbeprovidedviatheTournamentwebsite,andasotherwisecommunicated
bytheTournamentOrganizers.

TwitchandSEMCmaintainfinalrulingonanyTournamentrelateddisputesthatmayarise.Any
mattersofconsequencenotoutlinedinthisdocumentmaybeaddressedbyTwitchandSEMC
atthetimeofincident,andallrulingsareconsideredfinal.

TheTournamentstructureiscomprisedofthreeprimarycomponentsfeaturingtheVainglory
(Videogame)fromSEMC.Thetournamentoperatesinseparate,concurrenteventsinboth
NorthAmericaandEurope.TheprimarycomponentsoftheTournamentineachregioninclude
thefollowing.

TheOnlineComponentsoftheofficialVainglorySummerSeasonesportscompetitionwill
operatebetweenJuly2nd,2016andAugust31st,2016.Itwilloperateinthreedistinct
segments,Split1:(July2July21,2016),Split2:(July23August13,2016),SeedingWeek
(Aug2021,2017)andAllStarWeek(Aug3031,2017)

2.2.1ChallengerLeagues
TheChallengerLeaguesarecomposedofsix(6)weeklyonlinetournamentsthroughthe
Tournament.Eachweek,teamsmayapplytoparticipateatvaingloryesports.com.32teams
thatsuccessfullyapplyweeklywillbeselectedforthefollowingweekscompetition.The
ChallengerLeagueswillbeoperatedbycommunitytournamentorganizationsVGLorVIS.The
ChallengerLeaguesarecomprisedofthefollowingroundsofmatchplaywithwinnersadvancing
betweenrounds:Roundof32(16headtoheadgamesofonematch)Roundof16(eight
headtoheadgamesofonematch),Roundof8(fourheadtoheadgamesofuptothree(3)
matches),semifinals(twoheadtoheadgamesofuptothreematches),a3rdplaceseriesofup
tothreematches,andagrandfinalsofuptothree(3)matches.

Allmatcheswillbeplayedinaccordancewithrulesandrestrictionsoutlinedfurtherinthis
document.TournamentplaythroughtheChallengerLeaguesisdescribedbelow.
A. WeeklyApplication:Teamsmustapplyweeklytoparticipateinthechallengerleagues.
ApplicationswillbeopenapproximatelyMondaythroughThursdayoftheweek
precedingeachcompetition.Allapplicationsmustbemadethrough
vaingloryesports.com.Incompleteorinvalidapplicationswillnotbeconsideredfor
competitiveplay.
B. SelectionandBracketing:TwitchandSEMCwillselectandseedthetop32qualifying
applicationseachweekintheirsolediscretion.Criteriaformakingtheseselectionsmay
include:(i)previousChallengerLeagueperformance(ifany),(ii)ingameteam
performance,and(iii)individualplayerperformance.Bracketswillbeseededinafashion
wherethetopseedfacesthe32seed,secondfaces31st,andsoon.
C. BracketPlay:AllbracketplaygameplayduringthebracketsdescribedinB,above,will
becompletedonTuesdayandWednesdayoftheweekfollowingthecloseofthe
applicableregistrationperiod.TheChallengerLeagueswilloperateunderaSingle
EliminationBracketstructure.TheRoundof32matches,andRoundof16matches
willbeplayedasBestof1draftmode,withthehigherseededteamstartingonside
A.Roundof8matches,semifinals,finals,and3rdplacematchwillbeplayedas
Bestof3,withthehigherseededteamstartingonsideAforthefirstmatchand
teamssidesbetweenmatches.
D. CompetitivePoints:Eachweek,thetopeither(8)teamswillreceivepointsasdescribed
belowintheOnlinePointsCalculationprovision(Section2.2.4),below.Thetopthree(3)
teamsattheendofeachsplitreceivetheopportunitytochallengeoneofthebottom
teamsinEvilEighttotaketheirspotinthecompetitivestructureduringaseparate
ChallengeBattleday.PointsdonottransferbetweenSplit1andSplit2,orbetween
thechallengerleaguesandtheEvilEight.
E. Tiebreakers:Intheconditionwheretwoormoreteamsaretiedforthetopthreepoints
attheendofasplit,thefollowingconditionswillbeusedtodeterminetiebreakerswithin
thesplit.Iftheconditiondoesnotresolvethetie,theconditionbelowwillbeapplied,
untilthetieisresolved.

2.2.2ChallengeBattles
ChallengeBattlesprovideanopportunityfornewandoutstandingcompetitiveteamstoearna
spotintheEvilEightcompetitiveformat,aswellastheLiveChampionshipeventsattheendof
theseason.Thetopthree(3)teamsineachregionattheendofeachsummerseasonsplitwill
begiventheopportunitytoenteraChallengeBattle.ChallengebattlesarerunbyChallenge
Leagueorganizations.Challengebattleswilloperateinthemethodbelow:
A. Qualification:TeamsmayqualifyforaChallengerBattleiftheyplacewithinthetopthree
(3)teamsinpointsstandingthroughtheChallengerLeagueduringaSplit.Ifoneofthe
topthree(3)teamsisdeterminedtobeineligible,theteambelowtheminthepoints
standingmaybepermittedtoparticipate.
B. Seeding:Thehighestthreepointtotalteamsinthechallengerleagueswillbeseeded
againstthelowestthreeEvilEightteamsinthefollowingorder.
a. Challenger#1EvilEight#8
b. Challenger#2EvilEight#7
c. Challenger#3EvilEight#6
C. SeriesFormat:Allchallengebattlesareplayedinabestof5(Bo5)series.Teams
currentlyintheEvilEightwillstartonsideAforthefirstmatch(firstbanpick).Aftereach
match,teamswillalternatesides.
D. Result:IftheChallengerteamlosesthechallengebattle,theywillreceivetopseedingin
afollowingChallengeLeaguetournament,ifavailable.TheEvilEightteamwillreturnto
theEvilEightforthenextportionoftheseason.Ifthechallengerteamwinsthe
challengebattle,theEvilEightteamwillreciendtheirpositionintheEvilEight,and
receivetopseedinginanyfollowingChallengeLeagueTournament.Asavailable.The
challengerteamwillbeinsertedintotheEvilEightscheduleatthesamelocationasthe
teamtheydefeated.
E. Rules:Allrulesandregulationsareoutlinedintherulessectionbelow

2.2.3EvilEight
TheEvilEightisaweeklyinvitationaltournamentrunbyTwitchandSEMCamongthetop
VaingloryteamsinNorthAmericaandEurope.SelectedteamsbeginintheEvilEightbasedon
theirperformanceinthelivechampionshipsandonlineeventsinthepreviousseason.Twitch
andSEMCreservetherighttoadjustorfillanyavailableEvilEightslotsasnecessarytoensure
acompetitiveseason.

Allmatcheswillbeplayedinaccordancewithrulesandrestrictionsoutlinedfurtherinthis
document.TournamentplaythroughtheEvilEightisdescribedbelow.
A. SeedingandQualification:TeamswillbeplacedintotheEvilEightprogrambasedon
theirperformanceinthepreviousseason.SelectedteamswillbenotifiedpriortoSplit
onebyTwitchandSEMCwiththeopportunitytoparticipate.Intheeventthatateamis
nolongerabletoparticipate,otherteamsmayreceiveanofferbasedontheirhistorical
performance.

B. Bracketing:Teamswillplacedintoapredefinedbracketordereachweekend,withthe
bracketschedulepublishedpriortothestartoftheEvilEightseason.Thefirstand
secondplaceteamsfromthepreviousseasonchampionshipwillfaceeachotherin
week7.Eachteamwillbeplacedagainstadifferentstartingopponenteachweekfor
theirfirstmatchintheschedule.Thefullteamschedulemaybefoundat

C. BracketPlay:EachweekendoftheEvilEightconsistsofasingleelimination8team
bracket,witha3rdplacematch.AllmatchesplayedwillbeBestof3formatinDraft
mode.TheteamthatisgivensideAisrandomlyselectedacrossallseriesatthestartof
theseason.Teamswillswitchsidesaftereachmatchintheseries.
D. CompetitivePoints:Eachweek,teamsreceivepointsasdescribedbelowintheOnline
PointsCalculationSection(Section2.2.4,below).Thebottom3teamsattheendof
eachsplitwillfaceachallengebyoneofthetopthreeteamsfromchallengertoretain
theirspotinthecompetitivestructureduringaseparateChallengeBattleday.Points
donottransferbetweenSplit1andSplit2,orbetweentheChallengerLeaguesandthe
EvilEight.PointsearnedduringSplit2,andduringtheseedingweekwillbeusedto
determinetheseedingfortheseasonallivechampionship.
E. Tiebreakers:IntheeventthatthebottomthreepositionsintheEvilEighthaveatie
amongstthem,thefollowingcriteriawillbeusedtoresolveatiebreaker.
a. Theteam(s)withthebestheadtoheadrecord
b. Theteam(s)withthehighestwinpercentageofmatchesinthesplit
c. Theteam(s)thatfacedopponentswiththehighestoverallnumberofpointsatthe
endofthesplit(strengthofschedule)
d. Theteam(s)withthehighestsingletournamentplacementinthesplit
e. Theteam(s)withthebestrecordagainstthewinnerofthepreviousseasonor
split.
f. Theteam(s)withthehigherplacementatthepreviouslivechampionship
g. CoinTossTournamentOrganizerofficiatesacointosswithteamsrandomly
assignedheadsortails
F. SeedingWeek:AftertheendofSplit2,onceallteamsareidentifiedfortheLive
Championships,anadditionalweekofcompetitiveplaywillbeperformedtofinalize
Playerseedsforthelivechampionships.Theformatwillremainthesameasprevious
weeks,howeverteamsmayearnadditionalpointstowardstheirfinalstandingforlive
championshipseeding.
G. Rules:Allrulesandregulationsareoutlinedintherulessectionbelow

2.2.4OnlinePointsCalculation
Theaboveonlineformatsutilizethefollowingpointsstructuretodeterminepointsdistributions
toteamsinthetop8singleeliminationtournamentformatdescribedabove.
Everymatchplayedwillreceiveonepointforavictory.
Bothteamsthatparticipateinthefinalseachweekwillreceivetwobonuspoints(in
additiontoanypointsearnedforthematch)

Ifateamistomakeaplayersubstitutionpasttherosterlockdeadlineforaweekofplay,
theywillbeawardednopointsforthatweek

Inasinglebestofthreeseries,thewinnerwillreceivetwopoints,whiletheloserwillreceive
eitherzerooronepointdependingonwhethertheserieswenttoathirdmatch..Thisleavesthe
followingpointgenerationpossibilitiesforeachteamthroughoutthecourseofaweekend

2.3LiveChampionships
TheNorthAmericanLiveChampionshipswilltakeplaceonSeptember14,2016.The
EuropeanLiveChampionshipswilltakeplaceonSeptember911,2016.Thisdocumentwillbe
updatedwithadditionalinformationonthespecificlocationinthenearfuture.Eachofthelive
championshipsdescribedabovewilloperateinaccordingtothefollowing:

A. Qualification:TeamswithintheEvilEightafterSplit2willbeeligibletoreceivean
invitationtoattendtheLiveChampionshipeventfortheirrespectiveregion.Ifany
TeamsaredeterminedtobeineligibleorareunabletoattendtheLiveChampionships
foranyreason,ChallengeTeamsmayreceiveaninvitationtofulfilanyavailableslots.
B. Attendance:Teamsareexpectedtohaveatminimumarosterofthree(3)individuals
whoareabletoattendthedatesofcompetitionlistedabove,plusadayaheadofthe
eventformediafootage,andassociatedtravelbeforeandaftertheevent.
C. Seeding:TheLiveChampionshipswillbeseededaccordingtoTeamperformance
throughSplit2oftheonlineEvilEightseason,aswellastheadditionalseedingweek.
D. Bracketing:Teamswillbeplacedinadoubleeliminationgroupstage,andsingle
eliminationsemifinal/finalplayoffseriesofmatches.TheEliminationroundwillsee
TeamsswapacrossgroupstoavoidTeamspotentiallybeingeliminatedbylosingtothe
sameTeamtwiceacrossthetournament.
E. Format:AllTeamswilldefinewhethertheyprefertobanfirstorsecondpriortothestart
oftheeachLiveChampionship.Eachseriesduringgroupstageandsemifinalswillbe

Bestof3draftmodeformatforallmatches.ThehigherseededTeamschoiceonban
orderwillbeutilizedtoidentifystartingsides.Teamswillswitchsidesaftereachmatch.
Aminimumofa45minutebreakwillbegiventoTeamsfollowingtheconclusionofthe
semifinalmatchtoprepareforthefinals.TheFinalswillbeabestoffivedraftmode
format,againwiththehigherseededTeamspreferencedeterminingthestartingsides
fortheseries.

3.Definitions

Affiliate
isanyparent,subsidiaryoraffiliatedentityofacompanyorothercorporateentity

BestofX
meansaserieshasXnumberofgamesandtheTeamthatwinsamajorityofthe
gamesisdeclaredthewinner.OnceaTeamobtainsminimumnumberofgamewinsto
determinethewinnertheseriesimmediatelyendsandanyremaininggamesarenotplayed.For
example,ifaTeamwins2gamesinaBestof3setthatTeamisimmediatelydeclaredthe
winner.

ChallengerLeagues
meansasanctionedseriesoftournamentsrunbypartneredleaguesas
partoftheTournament,andtheassociatedentitiesrunningthetournaments.

Competition
meansacategoryofcompetitivegameplayfortheVideogame,asdescribedin
thesectionVainglorySummerSeason,above.

Europe
meansAndorra,Austria,Belgium,Bulgaria,Croatia,CzechRepublic,Denmark,
Estonia,Finland,France,Georgia,Germany,Greece,Hungary,Iceland,RepublicofIreland,
Italy,Latvia,Liechtenstein,Lithuania,Luxembourg,Macedonia,Malta,Monaco,Montenegro,
Netherlands,Norway,Poland,Portugal,Romania,Russia(exceptindividualslocatedin
Crimea),SanMarino,Serbia,Slovakia,Slovenia,Spain,Sweden,Switzerland,Turkey,Ukraine

NorthAmerica

meansaselfselectedrepresentativeofaTeamthatmaycompleteactionson
behalfoftheTeam,suchascommunicatingsidepreferences.

Tournament
meanstheofficialVaingloryEsportsprogram,andallonlineandoffline
componentsfortheapplicableseason.

TournamentEntities
meansTwitch,SEMC,theirrespectiveparents,subsidiaries,affiliates,
vendors,agents,representatives,andtheemployees,officers,anddirectorsofeachsuchentity
ororganization.

TournamentOrganizers
meansTwitchInteractiveInc.,SEMC,anditsagentsand
representativesmanagingtheTournament.

Winner
meanstheTeamswhoplaceinfirstthroughfourtheighthintheTournaments
Competitions.

Othertermsarecapitalizedwithinthedocument,andeachcapitalizedtermshallhavethe
meaningsascribedtotheminsuchprovisions

4.Eligibility
TheTournamentisopentoalllegalresidentsofNorthAmericaandEurope13yearsoldand
olderasofJune26,2016.AllPlayerswhoareatleast13yearsold,butundertheageof
majorityinthejurisdictioninwhichtheylive(aMinor)musthavethepermissionofaparentor
legalguardiantoapplytoandparticipateintheTournament.IftheMinorqualifiesfortheLive
Championships,additionalproofofparentalconsentandparentorlegalguardian
accompanimentmayberequired.

IndividualsmustberesidentinoneoftheofficialcountriesinEuropeorNorthAmerica,and
mustbeabletoprovideproofofeligibility(includingproofofresidency,andtaxform
information),asreasonablyrequestedbyTournamentOrganizers.

TwitchandSEMCtogetherwiththeotherTournamentOrganizercompanies,andtheir
respectiveemployees,directorsandofficers,andtheirimmediatefamilies(spousesand
siblings,parentsandchildrenandtheirspouses)andthoseoftheirrespectiveparents,
subsidiaries,affiliates,vendors,agents,representativesandanyentityinvolvedinthe
implementation,execution,prizingandprizefulfillmentoftheTournament,arenoteligibleto
participateintheTournamentwithoutexpresswrittenpermissionbybothSEMCandTwitchnor
aregovernmentalofficialsofanyofthequalifyingnations.


TheTournamentiscomprisedentirelyofTeams.Individualsmayonlyparticipatein1Teamata
timethroughouttheTournament.Additionally,anindividualmaynotearnpointsfortwodifferent
Teamsinthesamesplit.ATeammusthaveaminimumofthree(3)Playerstobeeligiblefor
theTournament,andmayhavenomorethan6Players.IfaTeambecomesineligibleatany
pointduringtheTournament,theymaybedisqualifiedfromcompetitionatthediscretionofthe
TournamentOrganizer.PlayersonaTeammustresidewithinthesameregion,e.g.,Europeor
NorthAmerica,asthecasemaybe.Teamsmayalsoconsistofsupportivemembers,suchas
coachesorownerswhodonotcompete.

NoownerofaTeam,ormanagerofaTeam,orifaTeamisownedbyacorporateentity,and
Affiliateofsuchcorporateentity,mayownorcontrol,directlyorindirectly,orhaveadirect(e.g.,
ownership)orindirect(e.g.,acontractualarrangement)financialinterest,orbeanemployeeor
contractorof,morethantwoTeamsineithertheNorthAmericaorEuroperegionsthat
participateintheTournament.Anybuybackprovision,rightoffirstpurchase,orsimilarinterest
inaTeamshallbetreatedasacontrollinginterestinsuchTeamforthepurposesofenforcing
ownershiprestrictions.ThisclausemaybeamendedasearlyasJanuary1,2017tolimitofone
TeamperTeamOwner,TeamManager,orAffiliateofanOwner.

IndividualPlayersmustsupplytheirownequipment,internetconnectivity,andanyandall
permissionstoaccesstheVideogame,including,withoutlimitation,avalidlyacquiredcopyof
theVideogameandaccesslevelstotheVainglorygameservers,asapplicable.Anyexceptions
orexclusionstotheeligibilitysectionmustbeagreedinwritingbySEMCandTwitch.

5.HowtoApply
Toapply,visitvaingloryesports.com.Certaininformationaboutyou,asaPlayer,willbe
recordedforthepurposeofadministeringandfulfillingtheTournament,andsuchinformation
maybedisclosedtothirdparties(includingSEMC,andotherTournamentOrganizers,fulfillment
houses,etc.)asreasonablyrequiredtodoso.Thisinformationwillbestoredandusedin
accordancewiththeTwitchInteractive,Inc.

6.PlayerParticipationReleases
ByparticipatinginaTournament,you,asaPlayer,herebygrantstoTwitchanditsTournament
Organizers,includingChallengerLeaguetournamentorganizers,permissiontorecord,
videotapeandphotographthePlayersvoice,name(includingPlayername,username,avatar,
gamertagorequivalent),image,likenessandtousesuchrecordings,imagesandinformation,
aswellasPlayersbiographicalinformation(PlayerInformation),forallpurposesinconnection
withtheTournament,including,withoutlimitation,recordingandexhibitingTournament

gameplay,presentingand/orotherwisedisplayingTournamentresultsontheTournament
website,Twitch.tv,andotheronlineandofflinedestinationsrecording,tabulating,presenting
and/orotherwisedisplayinggameplayinformationpertainingtoPlayerandPlayersTeams
performance.AllPlayerInformation,includingimages,audiorecordings,databasesof
information,bracketinformation,etc.,madeinconnectionwiththeEvilEightandLive
ChampionshipswillbeownedbyTwitch,whichitmayuse,license,transferorassign,including
toSEMC,initssolediscretion.AllPlayerInformation,includingimages,audiorecordings,
databasesofinformation,bracketinformation,etc.,madeinconnectionwiththeChallenger
LeagueswillbeownedbyTwitch,SEMC,andtherespectiveChallengerLeagueoperator,
whichitmayuse,license,transferorassign,atitsdiscretion.PlayergrantstoTwitchandeach
ofitsdesigneesincludingSEMCandChallengerLeagueorganizers,therighttouse,edit,
adapt,post,stream,copy,display,perform,transmit,broadcast,andotherwiseexploitPlayer
ImagesandthePlayerInformation,includinganynames,likenesses,voice,conversation,

5yearsfromdateofparticipation)throughouttheworld,forthepurposeoftrade,advertising,
promotionoranyotherlawfulpurposewhatsoever,withoutadditionalcompensation,

7.AgreementtotheOfficialRules
ByparticipatingintheTournament,you,asaPlayer,fullyandunconditionallyagreestoand
acceptstheseOfficialRules(includingtheTournamentRules,whicharetherulesofgameplay
fortheTournamentitself),whicharefinalandbindinginallmattersrelatedtotheTournament.
ReceiptofanyPrizeiscontingentuponPlayerscompliancewithalloftheseOfficialRulesand

PlayersagreetobeboundbythedecisionsoftheTournamentOrganizers,whichshallbefinal
andbindinginallrespects.TheTournamentOrganizersreservetheright,attheirsole
discretion,todisqualifyanyindividualitfindstobetamperingwiththetype,process,or
operationoftheTournament,ortobeactinginviolationoftheseOfficialRules.Further,the
TournamentOrganizersreservetheright,attheirsolediscretion,tobaninfringingPlayersfrom

split1,TenThousandUSDollars($10,000)perregionforEvilEightsplit2,andThirtyFive
ThousandUSDollars($35,000)perregionfortheLiveChampionships.AteachoftheOnline
stagesandtheLiveChampionships,theprizepoolswillbesharedamongthetopplacementsin
eachCompetition,asprovidedbelow.ThePrizeswillbeawardeddirectlybyTwitch,subjectto

TournamentOrganizers,attheirsolediscretion,mayrequirethereplayingofanyGame,match,
orCompetition,ordeclareanyoftheforegoingnullandvoidbyreasonofanytechnicalorother
systemerror.IfforanyreasontheTournamentoranyportionthereofisnotcapableofrunning
asplanned,includinginfectionbycomputervirus,bugs,tampering,unauthorizedintervention,
fraud,technicalfailure,oranyothercausesbeyondthecontrolofTournamentOrganizers,
whichcorruptoraffecttheadministration,security,fairness,integrity,orproperconductofthe
Tournamentoranyportionthereof,TournamentOrganizersreservetheright,attheirsole

AllPlayersarerequiredtoensureastableinternetconnectionanddevicewhen
competinginonlinetournaments.
AmatchwillnotberestartedduetoadisconnectionunlessallPlayersfrombothTeams
agreetodoso.
Forspectated/broadcastgames,tournamentOrganizerswillmakebestfaitheffortsto
identifyifaPlayerhasclearlydisconnectedfromthegameorisnonresponsive.Ifa
pauseoccurs:
AllPlayersshouldremainattheirdevicespreparedtoplayduringapause,foronline
gamestherewillbenowarningtoPlayersonceagameisabouttobeunpaused.
Assoonasagameisunpaused,Playersshouldcontinueplaying.TheTournament
Organizerwillrechecktoseeiftheissuehasbeenresolved.Ifitappearstheissuehas
notbeenresolved,theTournamentorganizermaychoosetoinstituteasecondpauseor

14.2.3.2LiveChampionships

PlayersmayrequestapausefromtherefereebyraisingtheirhandifthatPlayeris
experiencinganytechnicalissueaffectinggameplay.
APlayermaynotbegrantedapausewhen:

thePlayer/Teamthatdidnotselectmustimmediatelydeclareaherochoice.Ifthe
tournamentorganizerdeterminestheincidentindicatesunsportsmanlikeconduct,they
mayenforcebanrestrictionsorheroselectionlimitationsattheirsolediscretion.
LagmayoccuratanytimeduringtheeventanddoesnotgrantaTeamtherightto
restart/replayamatch.Playersshouldnotifytherefereeofanyconnectivityissues
immediately.

Anytechnicalconcernssharedwiththereferee/Organizersaftertheconclusionofa
matchwillnotbeconsideredgroundsforinvalidatingandreplayingthematch.Players

Playermustbegrantedapprovalbeforeanysuchactionistakenduringapause,
andanyrefreshmentmustbeprovidedbytheOrganizersandanybathroom
breakmustbecoordinatedandsupervisedbytheOrganizers.Intheeventa
bathroombreakisauthorized,thePlayermustleaveallelectronicdevicesand
othermeansofcommunicationwiththeOrganizers,andachaperonedesignated
bytheOrganizerswillaccompanythePlayertothegeneralbathroomareato
ensurethereisnooutsideverbalcommunication.

14.2.4Bugs,Glitches,andExploits

TheuseorexploitationofBugs,Glitches,andExploits,whetherknownorunknown,is
consideredunsportsmanlikebehavior,andreflectspoorlyonthePlayer,thegame,and
theTournament.
Playersareprohibitedfrompurposefullyusinggamebugs,glitches,orexploits
regardlessofwhethertheyprovideaperceivedortangiblebenefittothePlayerorTeam.
AnyPlayersfoundtobeutilizingbugsorglitchesintentionallymaybesubjectto
sanctionslistedinsection14.6Sportsmanship.
Belowisalistofsomecurrentitemsexplicitlyprohibited.Itwillbeupdatedthroughout
theseason,andisbynomeansanexhaustivelist.

besubjecttoanyoftheramificationsinsection14.6Sportsmanship,includingTeam
suspensionfromtheTournamentandlimitationofplayinfutureVaingloryEsportsevents.

14.3Teams

EachTeammustdeclareoneTeamcaptainwhorepresentstheTeamforallofficial
decisions.
AllPlayersaccountsmustbepartofthesameingameTeamwhenapplyingtobe
eligibleforparticipationintheTournament.
OncetheapplicationperiodisclosedforeachChallengerleaguetournament,Players
maynotbeaddedtotheTeam.
TeamsmayhaveadditionalPlayersoraccountsonaningameTeam,howeveronlyin
gamenamessubmittedduringtheapplicationprocesswillbeeligibletoplayinthe
Tournament.
AmatchofficiallybeginswhentheDraftstarts.Forlivechampionshipsonceamatch
hasofficiallybegun,communicationwithanyonenotdesignatedasplayingwithinthe
currentmatchincludingsubs,coaches,managersandanalystisstrictlyprohibited
andmayresultinimmediatedisqualificationofthePlayer(s)orTeam.

14.3.1Organizations

OrganizationsmayhaveamaximumoftwoTeamsgloballythatparticipateinthe
Tournament.ThismaybeintheformofoneTeamperregion(NA/EU),ortwoTeamsin
asingleregion.PLEASENOTE:WeexpecttoreducethistoONETeamper
organizationgloballystartingasearlyasJanuary1,2017.
PlayersmaynotswapbetweenTeamswithinanorganizationinthesameregionforthe
durationoftheseason.
TeamsmustplayfortheperformancebenefitoftheindividualTeam,andnotofany
Teamswithintheorganization.TwitchandSEMCtakeallreportsofcollusionseriously.
IntentionallylosingmatchesorprovidingTeamswithinanorganizationanadvantage
mayresultinthedisqualificationofbothTeams.

14.3.2Players

ATeammayhaveupto6PlayersontheTeam.AllPlayersmustmeettheeligibility
requirementsfortheportionoftheTournamentbeingplayed.
PlayersmaybeononlyoneTeamthatisparticipatinginanyportionoftheTournament.
PlayersmayonlyparticipateorapplytotheTournamentwithoneaccount.AnyPlayers
identifiedasusingduplicate(smurf)accountsorbehavingasaringeronanotherTeam
willresultindisqualificationforallPlayersandTeamsinvolved.

Playersshouldnevershareaccounts.Anyaccountsharingidentifiedduringthe
TournamentwillresultinPlayerandTeamdisqualification.
AnyPlayersthatreceiveatemporaryorpermanentaccountbanwillbeconsidered
ineligibletoparticipateintheTournamentforthedurationoftheirban.

14.3.3Names,Logo,andBranding

TwitchandSEMCreservestherighttorejectapplications,aliases,orURLs.Thismay
include,butisnotlimitedto,anyofthefollowing:

ChallengerLeagueContinuity:

PlayersparticipatingincommunityleaguesmustcompleteTeamrosterapplicationby
registrationcloseintheweekpriortothechallengertournament.
OnlyPlayersthatwereontherosteratthetimeofapplicationareeligibletoplayforthe
TeamduringtheTournament
OnceaTeamearnspointsduringasplit,thosePlayersmaynottransfertoanother
Teamforthedurationofthesplit.
PlayersmustbeontheingameTeamtheyregisteredunderwhilecompetinginthe
weeklyTournament
Duetotherollingnatureofregistrationandtournamentplay,Playersshouldstriveto
remainonasingleTeamforthedurationofasplit,regardlessofwhethertheyearn
points.

14.3.4.2ChallengeBattleContinuity

PlayersparticipatingonTeamsfromtheChallengerLeaguesmustbeontherosterat
thetimeofapplicationfortheweekleadingintotheChallengeBattles.
ForTeamsfromtheChallengerLeagues,OnlyPlayersthatwerebothontherosterat
thetimeofapplicationintheweekprecedingchallengebattles,ANDhaveplayedinone
oftheChallengeleaguematchesthroughoutthesplitareeligibletoplayintheChallenge
Battle
ForTeamsfromtheEvilEight,onlyPlayersthathaveplayedinoneoftheEvilEight
matchesareeligibleforparticipationintheChallengeBattles.

14.3.4.3EvilEightContinuity

TheinauguralsplitoftheEvilEightprogramisconsideredaninvitationalentryfor
purposesofTeamcontinuity.
TwitchandSEMCreservetherighttoaddorremoveTeamsbasedonsubmittedrosters
andeligibility.IntheeventaTeamisunableorwishesnottoparticipate,areplacement
Teammaybeselected.
TeamsintheEvilEightmayhaveamaximumofsix(6)Players.AllPlayersparticipating
intheTournamentmustalsobeontheingameTeamrosterstobeeligibletoplay.
PlayersmaynottransfertoanotherTeamwithinEvil8duringasplit.(Asplitis
consideredresolvedfollowingthecompletionofaChallengeBattle).
EvilEightTeamsmaypickandintegratefreeagentstofilltheirroster.APlayeris
consideredafreeagentifheorsheisnotcurrentlyontherosterofanotherTeaminthe
Tournament(EvilEightorChallenge)thatcurrentlyholdspointsinthesplit.
Teamadditionsmadeafterrostersarelockedaresubjecttoasettlingperiodofone
weekbeforetheymayplayintheEvilEight.RosterlockforEvilEightoccursatthe
TuesdaypriortothefirstEvilEightbroadcast,andagainontheWednesdaypreceding
thefirstEvilEightbroadcastofSplit2.

AnEvilEightTeammustretaincontinuitybetweensplitsandseasonstoensureeligibility
toparticipateinEvilEight.Continuityisdefinedby:
ForSplit1(Autumn):Aminimumof2Playersthatcompetedin,andplayedinat
leastonematchofthepreviousLiveChampionships
ForSplit2(Summer/Autumn):AMinimumof2PlayersthatcompetedinSplit1

14.3.4.4LiveChampionshipContinuity

TeamsinEvilEightattheendofsplit2aftertheconclusionofChallengeBattlesare
eligibletobeinvitedtotheLiveChampionships.
ShouldanyTeamsnotmeeteligibilityrequirementsasdeterminedbyTwitchandSEMC,
analternateTeammaybeselectedbasedonchallengebattleandseasonal
performance.
AllTeammembersattendinglivefinalsmustplayatleastonematchduringsplit2+
seedingweekontheTeam.
AnyfreeagentsaddedtotheTeamrosteraftertheconclusionofSplit2willnotbe
deemedeligibleforparticipationintheLiveChampionships.

14.4Version&DeviceRequirements
14.4.1Devices
PlayersmustprovidetheirowndevicesforChallengerLeagues,ChallengerBattles,and
EvilEightOnlineplay.ForLiveChampionships,Playersshouldbringtheirowndevices.SEMC
willprovidebackupdevicesinthecaseofahardwarefailure.

14.4.2DeviceRequirements

AllPlayerdevicesmustbeinastableandoperablestate.
Devicesmustbecontrolledviatouch/stylusinputONLY.Playersmaynotutilize
additionalperipheralssuchaskeyboards,mice,orcontrollers.
DevicesmustbeabletonativelyrunthelatestVaingloryapplication.Playersmaynot
participateinthetournamentutilizingadevicewhichrequiressoftwareemulationtorun
Vainglory.
TamperingwithadeviceinanywaythatcouldgiveaPlayeraperceivedoractual
competitiveadvantagemayresultinremovalofthatdeviceand/orsuspensionand/or
disqualificationofthePlayerorTeamfromthetournament.Organizersreservetheright
toforceaPlayertoswitchtoabackupdeviceshouldtherebeconcernsaboutadevice
ataLiveChampionship.
Playersareresponsibleformaintainingachargeddevicethroughoutonlineandlive
championshipplay.

Playersareresponsibleformaintainingastableinternetservice.ShouldaPlayerhave
internetconnectivityissues,TournamentOrganizersmay,attheirdiscretion,pausethe
game.SeethePausesectionbelowforfurtherdetail.
AdditionalRequirementsforLiveChampionships:
AllPlayersmustplayonadevicethatsupportsa5GHzWifiConnection.Ifa
Playerdoesnothaveadevicethatsupportsa5GHzWificonnection,theymay
berequiredtoplayonabackupdeviceprovidedbySEMC.
Playerswillprovidedeviceforinspectionpriortotakingthestageeachseries,or
inbetweenmatchesattherequestofTournamentOrganizers
TournamentOrganizerswillentertheadminwifipasswordpriortoeachserieson
aPlayersdevice.
AdminswillrequirePlayerstoforgettheWiFinetworkontheirdeviceatthe
conclusionofeachseriesbeforetheyleavethestage.
PlayersmusthavetheirdevicesinAirplaneMode(orequivalent)withWiFi
activatedandDoNotDisturbmode(orequivalent)turnedon.Anydevice
notificationsreceivedduringthematchmayresultindisqualification.
TheTournamentOrganizerswillprovideacommunicationsystemtotheTeams
usingheadsets.Playersarenotallowedtoreplacethoseheadsetswiththeirown
headsets.
Playersmaynottouchorremoveheadsetsduringamatchunlessexplicitly
instructedbytournamentorganizers.
ThePlayersarenotallowedtocommunicateviaanymeansotherthanthe
approved,providedheadsetsandcommunicationsystemwiththeirteammates.
Playerswillbeprovidedwithearbudsorequivalentin
earequipmenttohearthe
in
gamesounds.TheTeamcommunicationheadsetswillbeplacedoverthe
earbuds.Organizerswillhavebackupearbudstouse,asneeded.Usingyour
ownearbudsisnotpermitted.IfanyPlayerhasanyconcernormedical
requirementregardingtheearbudsorheadsets,thatmustbecommunicated
throughtheTeamcaptaintotheOrganizerspriortothestartofplay.Ifany
specialmedicalaccommodationisnecessaryforanyreason,theTeamcaptainis
stronglyadvisedtopresentthistoOrganizersatleasttwoweekspriortothestart
oftheevent,toensurepropermeasurescanbetaken.

14.4.3VersionRequirements

Allonlinematcheswillbeplayedonthecurrentlivegameenvironmentunlessotherwise
notedbyTournamentOrganizers.TournamentOrganizersreservetherighttopostpone
orcancelthetournamentintheeventofserverorgameissues.
AllOfflinematcheswillbeplayedonadedicatedtournamentserver.Thetournament
serverversionnumberwillbecommunicatedtoPlayersaheadofthelivechampionship.
Ifthelivechampionshiptakesplacetwoweeksorlessafteranewupdateisreleased,
thetournamentserverwillbeplayedonthepreviouslystablepatch.

Twitch/SEMCreservetherighttoplaceadditionaltournamentrestrictionsonthe
Tournamenteventstopreservecompetitiveintegrity.Thismayincludelimitingtheuse
ofcertainheroes,gameplaymechanics,oritems.

14.5Attendance
14.5.1ChallengerLeagueAttendance

Challengerleagueswilloperateindefinedtimeslotseachweek.Playersareexpected
tobeavailableforthedurationofthetournamentoperation.
AllTeamsmustbeonlineandreadytoplayten(10)minutespriortothescheduled
matchstarttime.
Atthebeginningofthedesignatedmatchtime,aTeamhasten(10)minutestoenterthe
lobbyasacompleteTeamreadytostartthematch.Thedraftprocessmayonlystartif
thepartyisfull,andallPlayersarepresent.
Onceadraftisinprogress,therosterforthecurrentmatchmaynotbechanged.Roster
changesmaybemadebetweenmatches.
IfaTeamisnotreadywithin10minutesofthematchstarttime,ordoesnotshowupat
all,theywillforfeitthematchandreceivezeropoints.ATeaminattendanceshould
notifytheChallengeLeagueoperatorisaTeamisnotavailableatthematchstarttime,
andsubmitascreenshotwiththecurrenttimestamponthedevice.
IntheeventbothTeamsdonotshow,theTeamswillbothforfeitthematchandreceive
zeropoints.Theopponentofthenextroundwillreceiveanautomaticwin.
Playersmaytakeupto5minutesbetweenmatchesforabreak.IfallPlayersarenot
readywithinfiveminutes,theTeamnotreadymaybesubjecttomatchforfeitureorother
penaltyatthediscretionofthetournamentorganizer.

14.5.2ChallengerBattleAttendance

TeamsparticipatingintheChallengerBattleswillbeprovidedmatchtimeslotsuponthe
performancethroughthesplit.
Teamsshouldbeonline30minutespriortothescheduledtimeslot,andanticipatea3
hourtimewindowofavailabilitytoplaytheirmatches.
IfaTeamdoesnothavethreePlayersonlineandreadytoparticipatewithinten(10)
minutesofthescheduledmatchtime,theymaybesubjecttomatchforfeitureatthe
TournamentOrganizersdiscretion.
Playersmaytakeupto5minutesbetweenmatchesforabreak.IfallPlayersarenot
readywithinfiveminutes,theTeamnotreadymaybesubjecttomatchforfeitureatthe
discretionofthetournamentorganizer.

14.5.3EvilEightAttendance

Allinitialmatchtimesarepublishedatthestartoftheseason.

Teamsshouldbeonlineandreadytoplaywithatleastthree(3)Playersnolessthan
fifteenminutespriortothestartofthematch,andshouldreserveatwohourtime
windowforeachbestofthreeseriestheymayberequiredtoparticipateintoaccount
forbroadcastschedulechanges.
IfaTeamdoesnothavethreePlayersonlineandreadytoparticipatewithintenminutes
ofthescheduledmatchtime,theymaybesubjecttomatchforfeitureattheTournament
Organizersdiscretion.
AnyTeamthattheTournamentOrganizerhasdeterminedwasnotavailableatthestart
oftheserieswillreceiveanautomaticloss,aswellasaonepointpenaltyintheoverall
standingsforthesplit.
Playersmaytakeupto5minutesbetweenmatchesforabreak.IfallPlayersarenot
readywithinfiveminutes,theTeamnotreadymaybesubjecttomatchforfeitureatthe
discretionofthetournamentorganizer.

14.5.4LiveChampionshipAttendance

UponcompletionofSplit2,eligibleTeamswillreceiveaninvitationfromTournament
Organizerstoparticipateintheseasonalsummerchampionship.
AllPlayersthatwishtoparticipateintheLiveChampionshipsareresponsibleforhaving
andprovidinglegaldocumentationtoestablishtheireligibilitytotravelandcompete.
Thisincludesparent/guardianconsent,governmentissuedidentification,passports,
andapplicablevisas.
TournamentOrganizersreservetherighttomakedecisionssurroundingrostereligibility
underanytravelorextenuatingcircumstancesfortheLiveChampionships.
TheLiveChampionshipsareaprofessionalsportingeventandbroadcast.Playersare
expectedtomaintainprofessionalismatalltimes
TwitchandSEMCwillprovideletterofinvitationstoanyPlayersorTeamsattheir
request
TwitchandSEMCwillprovidetravelfor
four
(4)individualsfromtheTeam.
Tavelconsistsofairfare,transportationtoandfromprovidedaccommodation,
andvenueasnecessary.
ThreeoftheseindividualsmustbeeligiblePlayersontheTeam.Thefourthmay
beasupportindividualaffiliatedwiththeTeamandPlayers,whetheraTeam
captain,manager,orparent/guardian.
AnyadditionalPlayersorsupportindividualsareresponsiblefortheirown
transportationcosts.
TwitchandSEMCwillmakeeveryefforttoensureanytravelissuesareresolved.
Failuretoprovideinformationrequiredtobookaflight,orcheckinforaprovided
flightmayresultinthedisqualificationofaPlayerfromaliveeventandfuture
events,atthediscretionofTwitchandSEMC.
TwitchandSEMCwillprovide
two
(2)hotelroomsperTeamwith2bedsperroomfor
thedurationofthelivechampionshipevent.

TeamsshouldplanroomarrangementstoprovidetoTwitchandSEMCwhile
bookingrooms.TwitchandSEMCwillmakeeveryefforttoensureTeamrooms
arelocatedneareachotherandadditionalmembers.
Additionalmembersareresponsiblefortheirownaccommodationsbeyondthe2
roomallocation
Roomswithminorswillhaveanyconsumableitemsremovedorlocked
Playersareresponsibleforanyincidentalsorcostsincurredtoanyhotelrooms
includingroomserviceordamage
Uponarrival,PlayerswillreceiveascheduleandexpectedCallTimesheetforthe
durationoftheLiveChampionships.Playersarerequiredtoarriveatthedesignated
locationbythelistedcalltimesunlessotherwisenotifiedbytheexecutiveproducersof
theeventfromTwitchorSEMC
PlayersareexpectedtobeavailableatthevenueforthedurationoftheMediaDay,as
wellasallcompetitivetournamentdays,unlessotherwisenotifiedbytheexecutive
producersoftheeventfromTwitchorSEMC
Playersmaytakeupto5minutesbetweenmatchesforabreak.IfallPlayersarenot
readywithinfiveminutes,theTeamnotreadymaybesubjecttomatchforfeitureatthe
discretionofthetournamentorganizer.

14.6Sportsmanship

AllparticipatingTeamsandPlayersmustbethoughtfulandcarefulabouttheirwordsand
actions,especiallyifitmaybeperceivedbyanotherpersonasoffensive,threateningor
otherwiseunsportsmanlike.
MoralTurpitude:Playersmaynotengageinanyactivitywhichisdeemedby
TournamentOrganizerstobeimmoral,disgraceful,orcontrarytoconventionalstandards
ofproperethicalbehavior.
Anydeliberateorrepeatedcursingatliveeventsorinchatwillresultinawarningand/or
disqualificationfromthematchortournamentasawhole.
HarassingPlayersbytheexcessivepostingofchatcontentisconsideredspammingand
isprohibitedinconjunctionwiththeTournamentandassociatedmediachannels.
Sexism,ageism,racismoranyotherformofprejudiceorbigotrytowardanyother
personmayresultinimmediatedisqualificationandorbansfromfutureevents,atthe
TournamentOrganizer'ssolediscretion.
AnyactionsverbalorphysicalthatareperceivedbytheTournamentOrganizersas
threateningorviolent,eitherofflineoronlinemayresultinwarningsand/orimmediate
disqualification,attheTournamentOrganizerssolediscretion.
AllPlayersareexpectedtoexhibitgoodsportsmanshiptowardsotherPlayers.Any
behaviorthatisdeemedunsportsmanlikeconductbytheTournamentOrganizersmay
besubjecttopenaltyincluding(butnotlimitedto)thefollowing:

otherTournamentOrganizercompanies,andtheirrespectiveemployees,directorsandofficers,
andtheirimmediatefamilies(spousesandsiblings,parentsandchildrenandtheirspouses)and
thoseoftheirrespectiveparents,subsidiaries,affiliates,vendors,agents,representativesand
anyentityinvolvedintheimplementation,execution,prizingandprizefulfillmentofthe
Tournamentmayoperate,participate,orencourageanyformofgamblingorbettingonthe
outcomeofTeamsorgamesinaccordancewiththeTournamentoperation.Anyindividuals
determinedtobeplacingbetsonTournamentplacementswillbebarredfromTournamententry
andmaybereferredtoauthoritiesasrequiredbylaw.

14.6.2Collusion
CompetitiveintegrityiscriticaltothesuccessfuloperationoftheVaingloryEsports
program.AllPlayersandTeamsareexpectedtohaveavestedinterestinperformingtothe
peakoftheirabilitiesduringbothOnlineandLiveChampionshipplay.IfaPlayerorTeamis
determinedtobecolludingoractinginawaytonegativelyaffectorrigamatch,theymay,at
thesolediscretionofTwitchandSEMC,bebarredfromentryintotheTournament.

14.7MatchStreaming
Playersshouldexpectthatanyandallmatcheshavetheopportunitytobelivestreamedin
conjunctionwiththeTournamentOrganizer.TheTournamentOrganizermayrequestthatthe
starttimeforamatchbechangedwithintheexpectedattendancewindowtoaccommodatea
livestreamaudience.

14.8Observers
IngameobserversarenotallowedwiththeexceptionofTournamentOrganizer,Tournament
Organizerpersonnel,andapprovedshoutcastersassociatedwithTournamentOrganizer.
