Tanika Singh

Costume Notes

For the victim, Emily Wilsons costume, we first decided to dress her
in a white t-shirt. This is because the colour white can be thought to
represent purity and innocence making the audience be more able
to sympathise with her. Her t-shirt and leggings have been ripped to
suggest the idea that she has been in danger whilst being held
captive. It also shows that she has been kept in the forest for a long
time as her clothes are deteriorating. Her trainers are muddy and
distressed looking to also show what she has been through in the
forest. There is fake blood all over Emilys shirt, which tells the
audience that she is being hurt and is in great. Make-up was used to
create cuts and bruises on Emilys face to signify that she was hurt
to a further extent.

For the antagonists, we decided to dress them in suits. This

juxtaposes with the location they are in and gives them a more

sinister look. They are also covered in blood which tells the
audience that they have been hurting somebody (Emily Wilson).
They are wearing sinister looking masks to keep their identity
hidden and to appear scarier. The antagonists are carrying weapons
to show that theyre a threat to the victim.
