Key: Your Programme of Study

This key is designed to help you understand the information and terminology
displayed on your Records and Results and related PIP pages.

Ticked box: This means that the module has been added to your
programme.

Empty box: This means that the module can be added online.

Grey box: This means that either the module addition deadline has
passed, or you cannot add this module online and must use alternative
means to add it to your programme.

Grey box with cross: This means that either the module is already on
your programme and cannot be removed, or the addition deadline has
passed. NB. If you need to retake this module, click on the module
code link (from your course or subject list) and select an appropriate
run from within the module description.

This is a module code. Each module has a unique code, and clicking
on the code will take you to more information about the module, such
as running times, the subjects or courses on which the module is
available, assessment weightings, etc.

The Global Political The module title is shown next to the code. The value of the module,
Economy if it is not a single credit module, will appear after the title e.g. if the
module is worth 30 UG credits (double) will show after the title.

ab Mainly for UMP students, a subject code displayed next to a module

in lower case means that the module is compulsory in Stage I for your
programme of study.

AB Mainly for UMP students, if the subject code displayed next to a

module is in UPPER CASE, the module is acceptable towards the
Stage II requirements for your programme of study.

62 If you have completed the module, a mark out of 100 will appear
alongside the module on your programme.

MERT Your mark for the module will also be expressed as a grade.
Undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will have different
grading schemes. For example, this MERT means that a merit grade
has been achieved, and grades like this are normally used on
postgraduate programmes

B+ For undergraduate modules, the grades will usually be displayed as a

letter. For example, this B+ means the module mark was between 60
and 69%.

On-Campus Highlights whether a module will be taught on campus or via distance

learning.

(honours) For UMP and other undergraduate students, level 6 honours modules
will be flagged up on your record with the word (honours) after the
module title.

Session Displays the start date of the relevant semester/term. You can view the
timetable for that session by clicking on the link, you will then be
shown the modules registered during that period and when and where
they take place (the rooming information will be available before each
session starts).

This symbol appears next to a newly added module, if your new

programme has not yet been saved.

Make Timetabling Clicking on this link will take you to a page where you will be able to
Request request practical set changes, when alternative practical sets are
available.

If you are making changes to your programme of study you must click
on the save programme button to make the changes permanent. This
triggers the system to check that you arent making your programme
worse in any way (by looking at the rules and requirements for your
award). If you do not click on this button your changes will be lost
overnight. If the system cannot save the changes you want to make
because they are making your programme worse i.e. you are creating
error messages and / or clashes in your timetable, the system will
highlight this for you on the screen, so that you know where the
problems lie.

If you have not saved changes that you have made to your programme
and wish to abandon what you have done, use the Abandon Changes
button.

If there are problems with your programme, you will see a message
like this. Click the link for more information on the errors or warnings
and seek advice from your academic adviser or student support
coordinator(s) if needed. See below for more information on the types
of error/warning messages you could see on your PIP.
