Ecosystem Project

By: Will Roland

Ecosystem: Desert
Average Temperature: Day = 100 & Night = 25
Average Annual Precipitation: 10 to 25 inches a year
Interesting facts: Some birds live in cacti. Most deserts used to be covered with
water!
Geosphere (rocks, soil, ground) information: The ground is rocky and also sandy.
Biosphere (Living things) information: Some of the animals found in the deserts are
lizards, roadrunners, birds and coyotes. Some of the plants found in the desert are
cactus, shrubs, and tumble weeks that roll away in the wind once their roots die.
Hydrosphere (water) information: There is not a lot of water in the desert so when
it rains it makes puddles of water that don't get absorbed and make watering holes
for animals.
