A. Basics
What are the physical characteristics of this race? A: Differs according to region, Dark
have variations in greyish tinges in their skin, Light are Hispanic looking, Earth are
typically light brown to ebony coloured, Lightning and air vary, Water are multi-coloured
like fish, Fire are Caucasian to Hispanic, Frost are Caucasian. Median realm dwellers are
like earth dwellers
How does magic fit in? A: Channeling is seen as a
gift from the divines to protect people and serve them, but it was
exploited so they limited its use to a select few, but enough that each
Realm had an army,***Channeling is limited by the persons ability to
focus and draw in energy and release in in fluid and specific motions***
Allowing Channeling to pass through or channeling it slowly weakens
your resistance to it, eventually the Channeling you use could destroy you
if used without rest
How do magical beasts fit in? A: Magical beasts are seen as aberrations and each realm
has a differing reason for their existence with some agreeing on certain aspects
Is this generally an earth-like world? A: Yes, it is earth-like
Are there different human races, whether or not there are non-humans like elves or
dwarves? A: They are generally human like, the water realm are like fish people, and
dark realm are grey skinned and nearly blind in the light
How does the cultural and ethnic diversity of this world compare to the real world? A: It
is very similar in the people and their differences
How long have there been people on this world? A: Thousands of years
Did they evolve, or did they migrate from somewhere/when else? A: They are thought to
be creations of The One
How many people are there in this country? A:
How does this compare with world population? A:
What is considered a small town/large town/city in terms of number of people? A:
Where does magic power come from: the gods, the mana of the world (as in Larry
Nivens Warlock stories), the personal willpower or life force of the magician,
somewhere else? A: Comes from the remaining essence of the now dead divines, and
from the persons Essence resistance Their ability to absorb and shape the essence
without absorbing so much that they are overloaded. The more stress and strain they put
on it, the more likely they are to die. channelling is starting to wane and no-one can
understand why, its because the divines are long dead
Is magic an exhaustible resource? A: Yes
If a magician must feed his spells with his own willpower, life-force, or sanity, what long-
term effects will this have on the health and/or stability of the magician? A: Regardless of
how long it is used, essence resistance will diminish once shapers reach the ends of their
lives, peaks out around late 20s to late 40s or 50s in some cases. OIder shapers will be
used as teachers or with low impact jobs
Do different races/species have different sources for their magic, or does everybody use
the same one? A: Same one for all
