Q.1) Answer all the questions. [18]
a) Attempt any two questions from the following: 8 CO5
i) Draw neat figure of Dumpy level and explain functions of its parts.
ii) Explain various uses of contour maps.
iii) Explain construction and uses of mechanical planimeter with neat
sketch.
b) The following consecutive readings were taken with dumpy level and a 10 CO5
4m levelling staff on a continuously sloping ground at a common interval
of 30m.

The RL of first station was 380.500m. Make entries in field book and
apply usual checks. Determine the gradient of line joining first and last
