Removal/Installation (F650 Funduro,


Strada SE Models) 3

1. Place the motorcycle on level ground on the


centerstand.
2. Remove the screw (Figure 3) securing the lower
section of the front fender to the slider.
3. Remove the screw (Figure 4) securing the upper
section of the front fender to the slider.
4. Be careful not scratch the paint. Carefully rotate
the front fender forward (Figure 5) and away from
the fork assembly and front wheel.
5. Install by reversing these removal steps. Tighten
the screws securely.

REAR MUDGUARD

Removal/Installation

1. Place the motorcycle on level ground on the


centerstand.
2. Remove the screws (A, Figure 6) securing the
mudguard to the swing arm mounting tabs.
3. Pull the mudguard (B, Figure 6) toward the rear
and off the swing arm and rear wheel.
4. Install by reversing these removal steps. Tighten
the screws securely. 5

CYLINDER HEAD SIDE COVER

Removal/Installation

NOTE
This procedure is shown on a F650
model. The procedure is the same for
all other models; only the shape of the
side cover is different.

1. Place the motorcycle on level ground on the


6 centerstand.
2. Remove the seat as described in this chapter.
3. Remove the screws (Figure 7) securing the cyl-
inder head side cover to the front fairing, the frame
and the mounting bracket.
4. Remove the cylinder head side cover and store it
in a safe place.
5. Repeat for the other side, if necessary.
6. Install by reversing these removal steps. Tighten
the screws securely. Do not overtighten, as the plas-
tic surrounding the screw hole may fracture.

SIDE COVER

Removal/Installation

1. Place the motorcycle on level ground on the


centerstand.
2. Remove the seat as described in this chapter.
3. Remove the lower screw (A, Figure 8) securing
the frame side cover to the frame.
4. Carefully pull out on the cover and disengage the
two cover posts from the rubber grommets on the
frame in the locations shown in B, Figure 8.
8 5. Install by reversing these removal steps. Tighten
the screw securely. Do not overtighten, as the plas-
tic surrounding the screw hole may fracture.

ENGINE LOWER COVER

Removal/Installation

NOTE
This procedure is shown on a F650
model. The procedure is the same for
all other models, only the shape of the 15
lower cover is different.

1. Place the motorcycle on level ground on the
centerstand.
2. Remove the lower screw (A, Figure 9) and front
screw (B) on each side securing the cover to the
frame.
3. Remove the engine lower cover.
4. Install by reversing these removal steps. Tighten
the screws securely. Do not overtighten, as the plas-
tic surrounding the screw hole may fracture.
