Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating
Description of how to implement in the class:
To introduce the study of famous people, I will use the George Washington Carver BrainPop
video to engage the students. I will start the lesson by asking students if they know what was
special about George Washington Carvers teeth. After a short discussion, I will challenge the
students to see if our predictions were correct. Students will watch the George Washington Carver
video. Students will also be asked to remember one interesting fact about George Washington
Carver.
After watching the video, the students will share their interesting fact. The teacher will list all
the responses on chart paper or the IWB. If there are not enough responses for each child (1 to 1
ratio), then continue until enough are provided. Each child will select one of the facts to create an
illustration. After the drawings have been completed with at least one sentence to support the
drawing, the teacher will use her camera to create a digital image. All images will be added to a
PowerPoint slide show, where the students will narrate their image. The PowerPoint will be
converted to a movie format and uploaded to the classroom blog.
