Question 1

Your class is unhappy with your school canteen. As the monitor of your class, you have
been asked to write to your principal, to complain about the following:
food left uncovered
attract many flies
1. this causes food poisoning because flies carry bacteria that are harmful to
humans
food served is stale
2. the food becomes spoilt when the upper forms have their recess.
food too expensive
3. the price is not reasonable and some poor students cant afford it.
Same menu daily
4. The food sold are not only expensive but lacks in variety. For the past three years
since the present canteen management took over, students go back to the same
food.
5. workers not properly attired
6. They way canteen attendants dress speak volume about hygiene. With their lackadaisical
attitude, the food they sell would one way or the other become contaminated.
rude workers
7. They are rude and arrogant. They often shout at students. The students are
always on the receiving end of their bad moods.
dustbins not cleared daily
8. the rubbish are mostly on the floor because the bins are not cleared.
oily plates and cups
the plate and cups are not washed properly. Using oily plates and cups is not
hygenic at all and it can cause illness.
In your letter, you would also like to offer three suggestions from your classmates:

cheaper food
serve a variety of food
