ISTEP+ Part 1
Beginning Tuesday,
February 28, our students
will be taking the ISTEP+
Part 1. Our testing will
take place for sixth,
seventh, and eighth grade students in the
mornings on Tuesday & Wednesday,
February 28 and March 1. Sixth and
seventh grade students will also be
testing on Thursday morning, March 2.
Please schedule all appointments around
these dates and be sure that your child
arrives to school on time.
Presidents Day/Flex Day Feb. 20
School will not be in session on
Presidents Day, Monday, February 20,
unless we would have a school closure
prior to that date
Textbook rental payments
If you have completed a
book rental contract, the
final payment was due in
January. All payments are now past due.

Pennies for Patients
The National Junior Honor
Society is once again
sponsoring the NEMS
Pennies for Patients
fundraiser. The campaign launched on
February 6 and will continue through
February 24. Pennies for Patients funds
raised will go towards research for
Leukemia and Lymphoma, and also
support local families in their fight against
cancer. Students are encouraged to bring
in spare change to help support this
wonderful cause.

Band, Choir, and Orchestra Sign-ups for 2017-18
Now is the time to sign-up for Band, Choir, and Orchestra classes
for the 2017-18 school year. Sign-ups take place online and must
be completed by February 17, 2017. Paper forms are available
from the performing arts teachers for those who need them.

Lunch account balances
Just a reminder that you can sign up at www.paypams.com to
check your childs lunch account balances, monitor daily
purchases, and set up automated notifications regarding account
balances with no charge. There is a nominal fee if you choose to
make account payments through the PayPams system.
NEMS spring sports teams participation
If your child is planning to participate in a
spring sport, he/she will need a gold card in
order to try out and participate. The forms
required to receive a gold card, including a physical examination
form signed by a licensed physician dated after April 1, 2016, may
be found by clicking on the ATHLETIC TAB of the NEMS webpage.
Summer PE for incoming freshmen
Noblesville High School has opened registration for summer
school. Incoming freshmen are eligible to enroll in summer PE,
however these classes do fill up quickly. Please click the following

Hollywood Dance February 17
The NEMS Student Council is sponsoring
a Hollywood Dance on Friday, February 17
from 6:00pm 8:00pm in the cafeteria.
Students may come dressed like a celebrity
(while still following the school dress code), will walk the red
carpet, and perhaps pick up an award or two! Regular admission
tickets are $3. VIP admission tickets may be purchased for $4 and
will give the students a star on the wall with their name on it and
will enter them in a drawing. Tickets will be on sale from
Wednesday, February 8 - Wednesday, February 15 during lunches
in the cafeteria. All tickets must be purchased in advance and may
not be given to other students to use. Concessions and photo
opportunities will be available at the dance for a small fee.

In an effort to support our many youth

on Wednesday, February 22 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the Noblesville
High School cafeteria. Come meet area organizations and learn

21st Century Scholars 7th & 8th Grade
Families
Time is Running OUT --Have you completed your 21st Century Scholar
application yet? 8th Grade Students must apply by June 30th, 2017.
Earning the 21st Century Scholarship provides students up to four
years of undergraduate tuition at any participating public college or
university in Indiana. If you attend a private college, the state will
you attend a participating proprietary (for-profit) school, the state will
award a tuition scholarship equal to that of Ivy Tech Community
College of Indiana.

7th and 8th Grade Parents: Your children may be eligible for a college scholarship Indianas
21st Century Scholars program offers income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years of paid
tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university after they graduate from high school,
dependent upon financial need. In middle and high school, Scholars are connected to programs
and resources to help them stay on track for college and career success. Once in college,
scholars receive support to complete their college degrees and connect to career opportunities.
