Brick School
Demand Made
For Elmwood
The Elmwood: ‘Improvement League
re-entered ‘the- Margaret B.. Hender-
son-Winnetka Elementary School tan-
gle Tuesday night when J. J. Collier,
league president, appeared before the
Dallas Board of ‘Education to plead
for a brick school:in.the Henderson
district.
Mr, Collier said the district could
fight for.a permanent’ school without
fussing; ; -that the: patrons’ resources
in the ‘campaign for the new school
have not heen exhausted, and that the
board has not spent enough money on
schools. “The Henderson. patrons,” he
said, “want'to know if:the board is
with us.”
Dr. David. W. Carter,- ‘board. presi-
dent, assured. Mr. Collier. that the dis-
trict will get a new school, but thaé no
definite time for its erection can be
set. The board, Dr. Carter said, can't
break, into the program for which:
architects” are already drawing plans
and ‘build “a ‘schoo! for the Elmwood
district. If sufficient funds are ayail-
able, he seid, after all schools now
planned are erected,.the district will
get.a new:school. Otherwise it will
be necessary 1o wait for another school
bond election, he said.
