Recommended
For Annexing
Early annexation of territory be-
tween Polk Street, Zang Boulevard
Highway. Iinois Street and the
Santa Fe Railroad was recom-
mended to city officials by resi-
dents of the Elmwood neighbor-
hood in a community meeting Tues-
day night.
The meeting was held at the
Margaret B,. Henderson School,
South Edgefield and Melbourne,
sponsored by the Elmwood Dads
Club. Seventh grade pupils. gave a
musical program.

outside the city.
Improvements discussed included
a new fire station, completion of
the Illingis bypass highway rotte
and. Hamoton Read, a playfield in
the northeast section, a playground
in the southeast section and devel-
opment of a parkway system.
Bartholomew said removal of the
Santa Fe Railroad tra*ks wouid
aid improvement of Elmwood.

the city develop properly, He pre-|
dicted the city soon will restrict,
water services to unincorporated
areas outside Dallas, possibly by
doubling rates for such service.
